What is wrong with this color combination?

Hello. The first picture was made before the walls and the ceiling were painted. The color of walls and ceiling is just natural plaster. The whole picture looks awesome, just perfect. We should stick to these shades and change nothing else.

However, we decided to paint the ceiling in white color (Dulux for ceilings) and the walls in white creamy color (Farrow&Ball, Pointing 2003, 7%). The result is disappointing. These two surfaces contrast too much now. What a pity. The ceiling seems to be too bright compared to the walls. Dulux paint is a total disappointment.

Even though we cannot repaint the walls (for the doors have the exact same color) we can think of repainting the ceiling. Repainting the ceiling will be painstaking and difficult since we have plaster cornices yet I see no other way.

Could you suggest any solution please for this predicament? :)
