Photo of my mother when she was graduating from high school in 1942 and of DH’s mother holding him. She was in her 30’s when he was born, having lost 2 babies due to miscarriages so this would have been in 1946.

Doctor's Carriage

My antique French Repousse cross which, due to its being made with brass and the specific embossed imagery on it, has been dated to ”well before 1890” by an antiques historian who specializes in French antiques that I consulted. The use of red/crimson velvet indicates that it was made for someone high up in the French aristocracy or clergy. Anyhoo, I’ve had it framed on green silk to protect it more. The green silk is actually a bit less bright than it looks here. It hangs in our main hallway along with more of my collection of crosses.
