After so many years i finally realized that theres a timer on the microwave.

Yes - I use the one on my regular oven.

I have a couple of wind-up types, but they only ding once, my oven repeats the alarm every 4-5 seconds until you turn it off.

I also use the ones on my microwave and oven.

Maybe check these. I was thinking Oxo might have a decent one.

I don't have a timer on the stove, and I do use the one on the microwave, but sometimes I've got a couple things going and need more than one, plus the microwave isn't that loud so if I'm another room I can't always hear it.

I use the timer on my oven, but it's sound isn't very loud. I usually use either my phone or iPad's timer. EIther will go off for a long time and be very loud. I can also carry my phone with me. "Hey Siri! Set a timer for 30 minutes." "30 minutes and counting."

Alexa. Hands free. I had 6-7 timers going a few hours ago. Beans on the back right burner, mixed grain on the back left, potatoes for salad front left. Bones roasting for stock in the oven. Salmon and sausage in the smoker on the deck under the eaves...it is raining all day.

So prepping for the next few days. Soon will roast some artichoke hearts and prosciutto for tonights Chicken Caesar salad. And some croutons.

Each of my ovens has a timer, as does the induction half of my cooktop, I use those for what's cooking. They're not overloud but can be heard in the living room and dining room. For hands in stuff, like the bread dough that gets fussed with a little in timed intervals, I use Alexa, also any time my hands are goopy. If I need some loud and/or portable, I use a windup timer by Progressive, which looks like an alarm clock with two bells on top and a handle. It's accurate, and I've had it longer than I can remember, though it doesn't get heavy use. It gets dropped a lot though :). I've only had this and the classic Lux (which died of misadventure rather than failure). I'd recommend either, with the caveat that Lux are made more cheaply now and may not be as good as they were decades ago.

I hate digital timer gadgets, though they do advanced functions which are good. I don't bring my phone in the kitchen, but use it or my tablet when it's not a kitchen thing that's being timed.

I have an OXO. Unfortunately, I don't think it's available anymore.

Forgot to mention that I often supplement with an old phone that has a timer app I really like. I put really loud alarm tones on all my phones so I can easily hear them.

I keep old phones, and use them as flashlights too, so I could have several timers going at once, if I need to.

The Oxo that I have has been discontinued, but it was replaced with this one.

Oxo was recommended by America's Test Kitchen, and I do like it, but I have a different timer in Cathedral City that I like as well, but it is slightly more difficult to set, in that you cannot type in numbers. However, my MW and stove there both have good timers that are easy to set. My stove and MW in L.A. do not have timers. My portable induction burner has a timer and turns itself off when it is done. I only use it with my pressure cooker, but it is good for that, since I do want it to be turned off at a specific time.

I only use my phone as a timer when I take a nap.

I have this one by the Thermoworks company. Loudness is adjustable and it keep ringing long enough for you to notice it going off. I’ve been using it for several years now, and really like it.

I use my phone or the oven.

I buy fairly inexpensive clip on timers from Amazon. ( They have a big selection ) I clip it on to the neckline of my shirt and then I can move about the house or yard without having to carry the little timer or phone with me. I don't get a complex one with stopwatch features. Just a simple count down. A magnet sticks it back on the fridge when not in use.

I would never hear the range or micro timer in another part of the house.

I have a timer on the micro and a drawer full of ones I could clip to my shirt and take with me. I have a memory of stopping to talk to a neighbor and while we were chatting he said "I don't know what you are timing but it's about o be done". I haven't used a timer other than my phone in years.

As said already, the phones have timers, very simple to use and very loud. I have two little timers in my kitchen that I use and they are just cheap ones I picked up at Walmart, they all work fine. Problem though is that my husband cannot hear that high pitched beep they make so the phone timer is what he uses, he can hear that from another room.

I use the cell phone and the watch. If two congruent timers are needed, I use a combo of timer and alarm. For example: " Hey Siri, Timer 25 minutes." Response: "25 minutes and counting." Next, "Hey Siri, alarm 6:05 PM": Response: "I've set your alarm for 6:05PM". If I needed more, I'd just set earlier or later alarms. Both the timer and the alarms will sound until you react.

Either Siri on my watch or Alexa. On Alexa, you can set multiple timers and name each one. For example, ”Alexa set potato timer for 45 minutes.” In 45 minutes, Alexa will tell you that the potato timer is complete

I have the Thermoworks timer that has 3 on the display. I have Alexa but like to be able to glance at it since most of the time I'll still be in the kitchen doing other stuff. But the thing I really like is that it counts up. I cook a fair amount in big batches and like to keep track of the overall time and not have to remember "ok 30 to begin with and then I'll reset it for another 5." "Oh that wasn't enough so another 5." "So how much time was that in total to write in my notes?" BUT the middle timer button just stopped working. I normally only use 2 at the most (2 ovens) but I'm dreading the others crapping out on me too.

Alexa can do that too, Start a stopwatch skill for the count up, so you have a backup if the rest of your timer fails. BTW, I just ask Alexa "how long on the bread timer" instead of glancing. :) Again, in case your timer fails before you replace it. :)

I use the timers on the appliances and my phone. That gives me three. When my mother was getting forgetful I got her one on a cord to hang round her neck as she had a tendency to wander away and forget things.

I often set my mother's old-fashioned, spring-activated "ding" timer for less than the recommended cooking or baking time just to get me to focus on what's happening. Then I set one timer for the minimum cooking time and another for the maximum cooking time. Clearly I need a lot of reminders to check on things! After forgetting to set any timer a couple of times, I try to remember to set a timer before putting the items in the oven so I definitely can't forget again.
