Deck Design Dilemmas

Backyard Deck Design Ideas/Designs/Perspectives needed.

As we need to replace our upper level house windows, we thought the time is right to replace the one which is adjacent to our covered deck with a patio/sliding door as it is off our dining room and can give us direct access to the covered deck.

Since we just learned that the composite deck material that was used for our existing covered deck is being discontinued, we are wondering about doing one or all of the following, but are having trouble visualizing what would look best and not come out looking wonky

1) Removing the existing window closest to the covered deck and replacing it with a sliding patio door wall, and then Adding a balcony /walkway that connects to the covered deck, but does not extend over the stairs going to the patio. This will necessitate shortening the trellis that supports our awning above the ground level door wall. The 1st pic below is a rendering that was the closest I could find to what we are thinking of doing.

2) Replacing the existing upper 3 panel window with a bay window, to give the façade a bit more dimension

3) Reworking/Connecting the two Juliet balconies (these were installed years ago for a specific purpose that no longer exists). And

4) Last but not least, but certainly less likely than the projects above, would be to build a deck that connects both sides of the house and the decking on opposite and now unconnected ends.

We really don’t have a need or budget for a full deck extension, but could possibly justify it, if it perhaps consisted of two walkways with a larger center deck in front of the 3 panel upper window, provided it doesn’t look out of place and crazy glued on.

Noted below are actual pics of our house.

All visuals/renderings, suggestions, opinions on any/all of the above ideas, sizing, design, and what railings to use, would be most welcome.

Thanks
