Blooming today in west central Indiana

The seedlings have started to bloom--four, in fact, but only one was picture worthy. One didn't like the cool temps last night and didn't open well, one was deformed, and one was blah. Here's the best of the bunch, Buddy's Betsy X Gary Lynn's Calliopsis. The flower is pretty but I don't think the plant is vigorous enough to earn a blue ribbon.

Vader's Choice blacker scapes than any I have seen before. The flower is cute too.

Nordic Sunshine has a better pattern today. I need to remember to get the pollen and save for later crosses. I should have picked the dead flower--sorry.

We tilled the space for the new seedlings and got the landscape fabric down. That space will hold just under 1200 seedlings. We will plant white clover on the bare spot between the new seedlings and the old seedlings further down. We hope to get started this week.

The next pictures are of some lilies blooming. We went to Menard's and I had to have this one.

We have a group of Martagon lilies blooming. I love these.
