Indoor Spray Painting Room Without Windows - Bad idea?

Chuck C
last year

I have to paint 40x40 room including ceiling and walls. I figured it would be a lot of work rolling so I bought a commercial paint sprayer, then I realized this space has NO windows and NO ventilation. There is a door that leads down a flight of stairs to another door that leads outside, but that's it.

This space has been painted before so I know it can be done. But I guess what I'm wondering is, if I use a good respirator is it still a really bad idea? Will toxic paint fumes be circulating forever? Would I be better off rollig the paint on? I'm assuming that generates a lot less VOC.

Thanks for any advice. Super frustrated that I have no window to open!
