Cleo only goes for the small ones. I think she got most every plant I bought last year. She likes to chew on the pots. The big ones were just collateral damage. She didn't intentionally mess with them. She knocked them over while chasing squirrels or leaping over them while trying to get Dan to play with her. I wouldn't call my FW a good one. It has been so ugly the last two years, I wouldn't mind if it bit the dust. It comes up with dessication (sp?) and it stays that way. It always has dead spots on every leaf, so you can't even cut the ugly spots out. bk

Thank You! I looked it up in the Hosta Libray, and there it is! Now I know. It is a trouble free plant, likes sun and shade, and as a minimum it is a good plant for the back. It is one of the better green plants, starting month of June.

I've probably pared away on August Moon the most, because I have had it the longest...and every time I move one to another place, I whack off a bit. But Gold edger is the one that gets huge so fast....and I just want it here and there as an edging plant and a bit of glod contrast...not a 30 inch clump that swallows other plants! I dig up 2 or 3 clumps of that every summer and give away 2/3rds....and next summer another 2 or 3 clumps are enormous! I think Sum and Substance is going to have a small amputation next sping as it's beginning to swallow Endless Summer! Linda C

Interesting note Denis, regarding the "bumps". In 2013 I posted a pic of JUNE which we all know, has beautifully smooth leaves, but a few of the leaves on my June were showing the bumps/corrugation. It could be possible one batch of Liberty came with corrugation, another not? Or, some smooth-leafed hostas develop corrugation but not on every leaf? If there is a mishap in a sterilized lab, who knows what results? Right now, yours looks like Liberty in the latest pic, NHL and it certainly resembles Bev Stegeman's Liberty IMO. Mine is a year old this year. I'll be interested to see it unfurl. :)
