I'm too short
Comments (6)LOL - I'm so sorry Karyn. But I'm thrilled you can modify and customize your benches for yourself. You'll have a customized gardening area for yourself! I'm almost 5' 11" - I used a standard kitchen sink cabinet in my bathroom instead of the lower bathroom vanities because I said I'm tired of stooping! (grin) The plumber complained about how high my shower heads were. He said he had to stand on a step ladder to do the plumbing because they're both so high. (grin) I said I'm not stooping any more! My house has been modified for tall people. (grin)...See Morealcove tub too short
Comments (10)My current tub is a drop in, so it's a little bit different. The tile is just under the lip of the tub. I am very pleased with the result. It's a nice place to set things and I like the look. My previous tub was a standard cast iron tub and the tile ledge was originally just a little bit taller than the tub itself. They used what I think was bullnose tile to provide a gentle curve from the tile down to the tub. The tile basically was flat and then had a curved edge that was deep enough to go over the lip of the tub. (I'm not positive "bullnose" is the right term.) You could also have the ledge and then a small floating shelf higher up where it would not interfere with bathing, but would allow a high shelf for access during showers....See MoreNeed short quote or saying for shower - need ideas, please.

Comments (7)A shower bench is a no brainer. The shower bench makes using the shower more enjoyable and does add to any romantic encounters you may have. If you have a wife like mine you better add two shower heads because mine steals all the water. I have a collection of shower bench photos that I show my clients to help pick a style. The shower bench detail can affect the placement of the drain so its wise to plan the build completely before picking or roughing in the drain.
