Calacatta Arno price

We are in the midst of a kitchen addition.
We will have a bitch with a pewter satin for the island and bottom cabinets and white (sugar) for the upper cabinets.
I am considering Calacatta Arno quartz for our countertops.
I live in the north side of Chicago. How much should I expect to pay per square feet already installed.
We will need 2 slabs, a total of approximately 90 sf.

I was looking at Calacatta Arno myself...sorry, don't know the price....and just when I decided it's what I wanted, I realized that the samples were varying in the base color.

I have off white cabs, certainly not as yellow in undertone as most off-whites, but still, a milky white with a tinge of cream depending on the time of day.

MSI makes it and distributes it to a variety of stores, including Home Depot, which sells it under the Stonemark label.

The only base I liked was the milky one. The others had a slight grey base. No good for me.

Thus, I decided not to choose it as it would mean I'd have to travel the Bay Area when the time came and search for slabs with the right undertone, not knowing if such slabs would exist.

That's one of the great things about Cambria: their "formulas" don't change.

BTW, while MSI does have an American plant, it seems their language about where they get their quartz is sketchy. In other words, I think it comes from China and I think that is why some of the bases of their so-called "white" quartzes differ so much from sample to sample, even though they have the same name.

Thanks Kevin well I guess this might have answered part of my question then :( Looks like I will have to live with something I hate or will have to see if anyone has any alternative suggestions that are just as beautiful. Sadly I have been to 4 stone yards here in south Florida and have hated everything I have seen except the Calacatta marble in the creamy colors.

We just had our LG Muse installed today. We also have light gray cabinets. (They were cherry, spent the summer sanding, sanding, sanding.) The kitchen isn't done (still need to hang floating shelves and put some subway tile in.... but, I LOVE the quartz. It took me a long time to pick out this quartz, and in the end, I liked the brightness and the subtlety-- I don't feel like it will become dated looking. I don't think I got many close ups, but here is a pic I took after install.

I found this thread when searching on Houzz for Calacatta Ida, just saying thanks to everyone for the information sharing! I have a few quartz colors by MSI that I'm considering (and a few by Cosmos). Since I think this thread is about a year old, I was curious if there was an updated list of the MSI quartz colors that use Breton technology, so I emailed MSI. After a few frustrating email exchanges (the customer service rep on the email had no idea what I was asking for based on her replies) someone from MSI called me and said they do not give out the list because it is proprietary information She said once I narrow down my choices I can email them a list of colors I'm considering and they will let me know which of those use Breton. She also tried to tell me that it doesn't matter if it uses Breton, all MSI quartz are covered by the same warranty, but I feel if the product is superior to begin with (and fabricated and installed correctly) there is less chance of something going wrong and needing to use the warranty! Plus in my experience, many companies make it very hard to use the warranty, they come up with excuses. Just my opinion. Again thanks to all contributors on this post, very helpful with my decision making! :-)

I dont know that exact counter but some warmer whites are BM white dove and BM swiss coffee. BM simply white is also a great one that goes with everything. It also doesnt have to go perfectly and remember any sheen on cabinets will look whiter than the paint chip. Also if you can borrow someone’s fan deck and bring it to the counter sample thats the best way to do it. for example this is white dove on the walls and the trim but trim looks white bc its semigloss.

Thank you, I am so overwhelmed and I am worried to make a big expensive mistake. Cambria is out of my price range that is why I am going with MSI

I totally understand. I am having trouble with choosing between two totally different styles of quartz because one will be easier--I think--to find a backsplash choice for than the other. Plus, I have a wall that makes it really hard to figure out where a backsplash should go, and three, this rotten economy/inflation is the exact wrong time to make any big purchase. I understand being overwhelmed. If you want great advice on such things as backsplashes and any other decorating ideas and advice for kitchen/bathroom remodels, try out the blog by Carla Aston. You could spend months reading her stuff and the advice she gives posters. I learned from her posts and her pictures why so many of my friends who had their kitchens re-done in the last few years have "something that just doesn't sit well with the eye." (It concerns where and where not to end a backsplash, particularly if you have a peninsula, which I do.)
