Anyone use a pool finish by SGM (diamond brite, river rok, durazzo?)

Our pool contractor uses a product from a company called SGM. I originally wanted Pebble Tec's 'pebble sheen' which is a smoother version of their original pebble tec finish. Has anyone gone with an SGM product? I can't understand the difference between their river rok, durazzo, and diamond brite options. I get that there are different levels of pebble 'feel' in them but is there a comparable option to Pebble Sheen? Has anyone had a good (or bad) experience with these products? It feels like such a huge part of the pool to decide based on photos online.

We use SGM products the Diamonf Brite line quite often. We also CL Industries line of Hydrazzo which is a polished finish. CL has others lines to consider-Sun Stone, Krystalkrete, Sun Stone Select.

We do not use Pebble Tec.

My suggestion is you look at, and feel, your pool contractor's jobs using SGM products. That will you help you in your decision making with not just the feel, but how colors looks in real time.

Yes I did! I love it! It reminds me of the ocean of the islands in the Caribbean Islands.When it was starting to fill up with water I got freaked out when the water started turning green, but as it started to fill up it turned into the stunning turquoise color I always wanted.Good luck to you and hope this was helpful.

3M Quartz vs Diamond Brite

jillyjack, SGM produces/sells Diamond Brite and Diamond Quartz. The 3M product is called Colorquartz Crystals. NPT sells a product that is called QuartzScapes. NPT is a distributor and most likely purchases 3M or SGM product. Diamond Brite is an exposed aggragate finish and the quartz products are additives. So many similar and competitive products make it difficult for PB's and customers. The applicator(plaster contractor) is usually the one that picks which product thay are going to offer in consultation with the PB. Limitations include franchise agreements, inventory considerations, training, and distribution outlet locations. In some areas it isn't practical to offer a large inventory of product. Unhappy customers are usually the result of poor application or poor start-up procedures. All of these products look good when done properly. Problems occur when applicators are asked to use a product that they may not be familiar with. Happens more than you might think when customers want something different than everybody else.
