Modern baseboard and door casing

Dear all,

I am looking for a simple modern line (rectangular cross-section) baseboard and door casing. What I am trying to understand is:

1) Which width do you suggest for baseboard and casing? Does 5.5" for baseboard and 2.5" for casing make sense? My ceiling is 8'. Any vendor that has those? My contractor uses Dyke industries, they have baseboard that are rectangular (S4S model), 11/16 thick (see below) but they don't have correspondent 2.5" casing, only 3.5, and my contractor says it is too large (also we designed fireplace shelves and bathroom vanity with 2.5" so vanity would slightly go over the baseboard with 3.5". I might be able to get a modification to the vanity if you say I should go for 3.5" width though).

2) Is it better that they have the same depth, so they meet seamlessly? Or should the door casing be deeper?

3) is 11/16" too deep? What is optimal?

4) an option would be combining WM453 casing with S4S baseboard. But WM453 has a much clear bevel, I feel like it would look off.
