Bar stool help!

I am struggling to find a bar stool I like to go in our new build. We have light grey cabinets with brushed nickle handles/stainless steel appliances/white counter tops and a white center island.
Also, it is close to the railing upstairs which is expresso wood and white.
Bonus if the chairs are relatively kid friendly! Thanks in advance

Where will they be used? I would go bright red you need some color.

Welllll what will the rest of your furniture look like? Dining room chair you use - a photo of that at least. The finish and style of barstools is a reflection of not just the kitchen - especially in open concept.

pluckymama - thank you! That's so sweet to say, and I always feel I am coming up short compared to others homes and decorating! The tableset and stools are manufactured by "Lorts" and I purchased it from Lexfurniture.com in KY. I first read about them from this website, and I saved $1000's! Lorts didn't have a catalog online, but I found a website that showed all there products. (BeachlersFurniture.com ) However, a local store did carry many of their pieces as well as all the color samples that they do, so I was able to see, feel and decide locally. It's a dark day here in sunny FL and my already dark house is pretty dark. There is a lot of wood - but I am getting use to the set and liking it much better! Definitely the leaf helped.. so I think it's a keeper and we'll remove the leaf on Friday night card games! ( I play with my parents!)

You have options! Your palette is fairly neutral at this point which gives you a nice canvas to personalize with furnishings and accessories! The light fixtures are a great feature in your space, it'd be nice to see that same finish/style combination incorporated into the stools. Perhaps a metal stool with a transitional silhouette would help marry the styles of your kitchen together: Happy shopping!

I would more envision serving drinks/food and brief sitting at a bar height counter than guests comfortably sitting for extended periods looking into a corner but it really depends on your entertaining and guests so you should do what works best for you.

Seeking a bar stool to help my mobility impaired mother sit at a kitchen island. She struggles getting on and off a bar stool that's high enough to be at the counter. Anyone know of a bar stool that she can get on/off in the low position, but will go up and down to counter height with her on it? Thanks!

The stools would be used by the center island.

The room is also connected to the family room.

A few more questions to narrow it down, as there are so many options:

Budget?

Style? Modern, transitional, contemporary, traditional, coastal, boho, something else?

Backs or no backs?

Without knowing more, my first thought was this gray and espresso combo:

I actually love both of those you mentioned!

My husband wants backs on them for sure. Trying to stay around 150-250 per chair. Honestly- I am not sure what my style is ὣ3 Somewhere between classic and modern maybe?

Jen, if you haven’t already, take a look around Wayfair and Overstock. So many choices, usually very good prices. And easy to narrow down with specifics.

Everything is gray, which means you can have just about any color, if you're up to it. I'd probably go with molded Eames knockoffs. They can be cheap, colorful, and kid friendly. Also pretty comfy.

Do you have any reccomendations for coffee tables as well? It would be in front of the fireplace. (Rug will go under the couch in front of it)
