Currently I have placed only one landing stone, but another one, the top tread stone will be placed. My questions is after that point what to do, how to arrange the cut stone pieces ( dimention: ) if they are suitable sizes. If not what would you suggest in that space. As you can see, the distance between the first stepping stone and the last one is about 3 ft, and it is right in front of the pathways (crushed granite). The rest of the patio space is done in a modern style. The lot size for the re-do area is a rectangular style, wide (36ft wide and 17ft deep).

That one cut looks odd if none of the others are cut.

I see three colors of stones happening and that 1 color too many. The stacked gray stone looks terrible next to that gorgeous paver patio. I would get rid of that color and keep everything earthtones. Us the same pavers from the patio for the walkway.

It is so interesting to hear that the dark grey stone look so out of place in the space while I loved it among grey and black combo retaining wall color. You are not the only one, either. The real color of pavers on the patio floor and the free standing wall is grey tone and the rest including the stepping stone pieces ( 6" x 18" ) are earth tone. One problem is that it is 0.5" thicker than the natural stone piece.

What about the size of the stepping stones? Are they too narrow?

I am going to post a better picture, cleaned up a bit on spot off of the top step.

IMO already too amny types and colors of stone so not to those steppinfg stones pick a stone you already have and no warm tones and gray rarely work well together . I also curious as to what the walkway is heading to. I would just use the same pavers as on the patio for the stepping stones and for sure since you say the rest is modern.
