Counter height stool recommendation?

We’re remodeling our kitchen and will have a two-tone look similar to these - walnut wood island with a clear stain, and white cabinets. We will have brass fixtures. Looking for recommendations for comfortable, mid century modern or modern looking counter height stools. I have two kids (10 & 6) so it can’t be fabric because I tried that with our dining set and it was disastrous.

I think those slope ones are super comfortable! We have four kids and chose white leather (actually bonded leather due to budget). There is a lot of wiping involved lol. My four year old likes to climb across all four stools…..WHY??? But they do wipe clean easily!

Do you know what your counter top will be? Can you wait until things are installed for better recommendations? I think you’ll have so many really nice options to choose from! For example, if you Google modern brass counter stool, there are so many pretty ones!

I have kids that are 9 and 6 so I can feel your pain - I've been looking at some of the leather ones like what West Elm sells, but husband wants swivel stools (I loathe swivel stools). I think there are similar ones at other stores but I think leather could work with kids - wipeable at least!

Oof I feel like the kids will go nuts with the swivel stools 🤪 I know mine would. The west elm ones are cute, my husband doesn’t think they look comfortable 😂

And your 'wear' expectations. For instance if you want a pair of stools, purchased at $200/pair, to last 20 years, then there are some concerns with your expectations. If, on the other hand, you are happy with $500 per CHAIR ($1000/pair) then 20 years is very possible (this would indicate top grain or full grain leather). If you are looking at $200/pair in leatherette/pleather/vinyl and would be SUPER HAPPY with 7-10 years, then your expectations are well within the wear characteristics of the materials chosen. But as above, we need to know your budget...and your expectations for LIFE EXPECTANCY of these stools.

@K S I'm laughing because this is literally the exact same converation my husband and I had last night -- he wants comfort, and I want style. LOL! I'm still trying to find what I like that will work and make us both happy.

You can simply wipe off the white vinyl upholstery.

Good to know about the slope stools and the vinyl above.

I probably should wait until it’s all installed, counter will be silestone calacatta gold for reference!

If you do swivel, then do backless - at least until your children are, like, 30, lol. Otherwise they'll get trashed by the countertop edge, and vice versa....
