Comments (3)Thanks--but I don't think it is spirea, despite the flowers. I am wondering... based on a perusal of the library... if it is Symphocarpos orbiculatus (snowberry, coralberry, or Indian currant). It has small but prominent white berries in the fall. Here is a link that might be useful: from the nat'l park service......See Moreyellow flower shrub?
Comments (9)yes, i think that it is Euryops pectinatus. one plant died in the public area, so i want to search for a way to grow another one, maybe by cutting....See MoreLarge yellow flowers on shrub that can be grown from seed in Zone 4a
Comments (10)Kerria, forsythia, mahonia, hypericum will all produce yellow flowers but none of them are very large. They tend to make up for lack of size with abundance :-) Try Googling with the botanical name and seeds - that should provide a number of sources (it did for the kerria and hypericum). But I too would start out with a small plant........growing just about any woody plant from seed is a long, multi-year process to get to a flowering stage....See Morethefof Zone 8/9 UK
