Any hope for broken flowering stem?
Comments (7)You both are so nice and supportive. I thought, too, that most plants in the flowering "mood" will keep trying, so I will definitely have patience and wait ... and wait ... and ... As far as light goes, we are in the midst of a remodel, so the phal lost its home under a north-facing skylight in our living room and is now under a south-facing skylight in our bathroom. It gets bright indirect light most of the time, but as summer comes, the amount of direct light will increase. I may have to move it around the room a bit....See MoreFrozen fig...any hope at all?
Comments (3)Hi Guy:If your container was of large size(Over 10 Gal.)the chances of roots being alive are very good. In that case it will grow,from soil level. Do not disturb or add nothing to it,except water if the soil is completelly dry for 2 inches deep. At this stage it needs very little water. Too much watering will kill it. Set it in a sunny place protected from cold winds and Hope for the best. As a note ,My young trees,that i planted inground last year are also dead to soil surface. At least 10 of them. Yet I know they are not dead. This winter had long colds periods,that lasted. That is why many fig trees on the east coast,had damage this year. My wife Brugmansia,3 plants died in Garage. Like I said figs do not die easily. Best Regards Best Regards...See MoreSo sad, it looks like this forum has expired. Is there any hope? : {
Comments (24)I open this forum daily. Even though my house is far too small, and most of my ideas and plans for it flop into DH's disapproval, I keep pressing onward. I have to do small projects, one at a time. No multi-room tear out and redo here, but things are coming along. I recently posted questions about ideas for a storage wall area for oversize books (we both have far too many books even after two "purges.") and TV viewing in the living room. I learn so much from others' postings, even if the room or issue is not exactly like my problem(s) it gets my brain cells fired up too, not an easy task these days. Shades-of-Idaho, your glass backsplash and the new window hanging blow my mind; they are so wonderful. Mama-Goose, I need a multi-storied tree house. Could you install an elevator in it?...See MoreCitrus Winter Leaf Drop, Root Rot, any Hope. SOS
Comments (19)Thanks for all of your help everyone. I think I've done everything I can/will do for now. It's in the sunniest window in the house. Its been fertilized, and I think it's in a planting medium that will do. It's not Al's gritty mix, which apparently is just this side of the mix used to grow the Garden of Eden, but it's organic and seems to drain quickly. The tree has produced a few flowers. I don't know if that's good or bad or portentous, but it did. So I'm just going to enjoy the sent, and hope it survives until March. On another note, we have some warm days in the forecast mid 60s. I want to put the trees on the porch, but the temp is supposed to drop again and I'd need to bring them back in. Is it good to move them in and outdoors frequently if I'm not "hardening them off." Will that cause some sort of shock and mess up the one orange tree that appears to be flourishing?...See MoreShawna
