Comments (23)Hopeless, huh? Oh,well, may as well dive right in! Do I qualify for a 12-step program yet, can I have the cuttings anyway? Today I went to Lowes as promised and a nice wayetti is hanging next to my previous weaknesses now (they did tag it kentiana and it does have a darker margin. You guys are good!) Now, the guy at Lowes was very nice and asked if I was looking for a particular kind of Hoya, since he can try and order it for me. Can you tell me what I absolutely have to have? I assume he was talking about Exotic Angels. So, out of australis, fishtail, marlea, picta, shamapry, stripes, bilobata, green wax, linearis, regalis, rubra, shooting stars, and sulawesii, which ones can't I live without? Many thanks again for all your help! Grow...See Moreproud of our daughter!

Comments (12)No self-respecting hardwood flooring installer (well trained and "in love" with his/her career path) would even THINK of doing such a thing. I'm sorry but the GC now has to source a product identical (or as close as possible given this is reclaimed product) at his/her cost. The GC will discover exactly how costly the chop-happy assistant (no way this was a professional hardwood flooring installer that was hired) has made this job. I would say that this mistake has cost the ENTIRE profit on the floor and probably much of the profit on a good chunk of this project. The GC will be luck to come out with a $0 balance. The "short ends" hardwood "look" is for LOW QUALITY products! Like STUPID CHEAP Lumber Liq. $0.99/sf red oak "shorts". This is the way you create a hardwood floor on a super low budget. You purchase the "shorts" that everyone else rejected, and take the HUGE amount of time to piece together a "short ends" hardwood floor. You did NOT purchase a batch of "shorts". You did not WANT a batch of shorts. You wanted the 12ft lengths (incredibly rare and SPECIAL) used in your space. The assistant has just created low-end "shorts" which can now be sold for $1.99/sf (they get the extra $1 because it is "reclaimed" and would be more desirable than LL shorts). Go back to the place where you originally purchased the product and see if they can source something else. Make sure you are clear with the GC that this batch will be his/her financial responsibility. And then get it in writing that an "assistant" will not be used for the flooring. You want the name of the PROFESSIONAL flooring installer who will be independently contracted to put in your very SPECIAL floor. I would need all of that in writing - with dates, signatures and witnesses....See Morechisue
