Hello; We've had it for over 2 years but it may be that the the AIR feature was only recently enabled by a power surge when a truck hit a nearby pole, cutting power to a wide area. (Our cable box died from the surge that night.) Last night it started up closer to the scheduled time, just 45 minutes, so maybe it is learning. Still, do you know what I'm doing wrong while trying to set function code 290 to value = 1 or 2 so I can access the higher codes? I hit the arrow key to change the value from 0 to 1, hit done, go back into setup mode and find the change never took. Maybe some codes aren't available on my model? Maybe I'm not operating it right? Oil prices have dropped to historic lows. So you want to make sure heating with the mini split with your electric rates will cost less than operating the oil boiler. Mostly likely it will but the savings may be much smaller than you originally thought. i highly doubt the 15 BTU BTU mini split is able to heat your house to 70 degrees in during the winters of Pennsylvania. You will have to experiment with the three thermostats to find the best setting. I am curious why only a 15K BTU mini split. I don't think that will be enough to keep the house cool unless you have additional window AC units. I am not an expert on integrated hot water heaters with oil fired boilers. However I would think there must be an independent hot water heating setting. I also think 180 degrees is too hot for your baseboard heating an it should be set at 160 degrees. Someone that has a similar set up may be able to provide guidance based on experience.

Oil burners are sometimes installed with a fused safety switch. Your old switch seems to be a typical single pole toggle switch. If the wiring is 14 gauge then a 15 A toggle switch should be fine. I suppose it failed from old age. It is probably only flipped once a year. Oil burners installed in basements may sometimes have a power switch at the top of the stairs. If you have one then check it for problems. I am glad to hear you found the faulty connection. That type of problem can be very frustrating. Are you really sure you need a humidifier? Have you measured the humidity level? Humidifiers need regular cleaning and maintenance. It is always best to solve the low humidity problem in other ways. Outside air infiltration is the biggest cause in the winter. I suggest sealing up windows and doors wherever possible.
