Before and *almost after* exterior brick

Still have a lot to do landscaping and porch decor wise, also thinking of expanding step and replacing the column with a thick square one.…open to suggestions! Used DyeBrick lime-like wash to allow bricks to breathe and avoid damage.

Bargain cottage - more before & after pics
Comments (7)forgot to add my budget: roughly: new hvac $5500 new roof $2500 framing/carpentry/wall changes/termite repair/rebuild laundry room: $4500 electrical $1200 plumbing $800 termite treatment (active termites - yikes) $600 paint $300 hardwoods $2200 (install in kitchen, sand & stain all others) appliances $2100 cabinets $1800 countertops (included with cabinets for perimeter) $700 island granite and recut corian bath remodel $1000 misc $ who knows - probably about $1,000 in various home depot trips. Total $23,900... but my budget was $20,000. I had planned to get craigslist appliances - until i bought a bum dish washer that leaked all over the new floors :-( Overall, I think I added about $100k in value to the house. Comments (7)Did you leave the column like that on purpose, or did you paint it black? It just sticks out, and looks disjointed. I think by leaving a few of the darker bricks exposed, you've made it look like the house has freckles. Like everything, there's likes and dislikes. I personally don't like freckles on men, because my sister had them and I found them feminine. However, there are other people like my sister, who sought out men with freckles and found them attractive. So, it's whatever makes you happy. It does add some texture.. This was a big change, and I personally would have covered them all. I am glad you got away from the red brick, which I find very boring.
