I have had my quartz counters for over 2 years now and have had no problems. I don't feel the instapot or toaster oven gives off too much heat and will damage the counter. The things I look out for the most is hot pots or anything that is coming out of the oven like cookie sheets etc. Otherwise no issues.

I’ve had no issues with air fryer, electric tea kettle, toaster on my quartz. Regardless to counter material I always use trivet’s when putting pans from oven on counter.

I was worried so I got some of the clear silicone hot pads, cut just a bit larger than the bottom of my air fryer/toaster which I keep on the counter and it basically blends in. Works great.

Putting things from gas or oven on trivets always happen at my home but reading about cracks and explosions from crock pot and instapot was very concerning and I was second guessing my decision to get quartz.

I have never had a heat problem with quartz for my instant pot, crock pot, toaster, kettle, etc. I use hot mats for things out of the oven. I have had problems with softened water spotting the surface though. I still like it better than granite - personal option.

I have had quartz for close to twenty years and nothing has ever damaged it…..of course I dont put hot pots on it. When i redo my kitchen I will choose granite or soapstone.,

I have a small hardworking kitchen with quartz. I've had the quartz for one year. Because my kitchen is small, I limit the amount of cooking accessories I bring into my space. I have a countertop microwave, toaster, coffee maker and Vitamix that live on my countertop fulltime. A crockpot and food processor are only brought out when needed. I protect the countertop from the crockpot and heated dishes that come out of the oven, but nothing else. I make tea with a teapot on an induction range or in a cup of water in the microwave.

My quartz countertop is about 2 months old. I have been obsessively careful with hot items. The toaster and the Mr. Coffee coffeemaker don't generate much heat on the bottom, so they are ok. The Cuisinart air fryer--hot air jets out the back towards the quartz backsplash which does get warm, so I put another cutting board there. The Instant Pot didn't get too hot on the bottom, but I will put it on something when I use it or put it on my stovetop.

The problem is the slow cooker. Made bean soup yesterday and had the crock pot on 2 plastic cutting boards, but to my horror the counter still got quite warm, and not just under the pot but the whole area, and it held the heat for quite a while. No harm seems to be done, but next time I use the crock pot I will do it on the stovetop or washing machine which is in the kitchen.

After the slow cooker experience, I know I need to get some of the heat resistant mats as mentioned above by Newkitchen above. Those plastic cutting boards I'm using seem to transfer heat rather than protect the counter.

I have had quartz for 10 years in my current kitchen and 10 years in a previous kitchen. I cook a lot, and have not had any problems with most appliances, though I do not use a slow cooker or Insta Pot.

HOWEVER, I did have a big whoops moment with a sous vide set up. I didn't think there would be a problem, since the water in the tub never got all that hot. One day I stupidly put a brisket on for a good 24 hour cook. I put the tub on the countertop right next to the sink, because it was convenient. The low heat over a long time eventually caused the countertop to crack. It is a hairline crack about 4 inches long from the counter to the sink cutout. I don't think anyone would ever notice it but me, but it's there.

All of that being said, I am currently in the middle of a small kitchen update and will replace the current counter with quartz. (Not replacing the counter because of the crack...wanted a new color to go with new flooring.) It's not a deal breaker for me...I'll just know to be more careful with the next one.
