Any exercise gurus here?

I'm in okay shape for my age but definitely not buff. Over the past couple of years when I try to do muscle-specific work, like abs or butt, I rarely feel muscle soreness after the workout. I tend to do 30 or so reps.

I used to do sit-ups or planks or squats and feel like I did work the next day. Now, nothing. I do feel push-ups but honestly, it is not a good sore, it's a "Is there something wrong with my shoulder?" sore.

What am I doing wrong? Or is it another weird age thing (I just turned 60)?
