Is this a duplex and if so do you own both sides I am totally confused as to the reason for the 2 entry doors so more info please.

Paint the door, if you want. If the windows don't need to be replaced, don't. It won't make a big difference. Making the stairs more traditional might help. Also, pavers where the truck is. Replace the lawn with garden.

Keep in mind your neighbor so that whatever you do harmonizes with them. We get that you want to put your own stamp on your new house, but it does have its own character and style to take into account. Just forget gray (even though your neighbor has it). Work with your warm palette of dark reds, brown roof, golden grout. That's your palette, not gray and black.

--The brick is great. Don't touch it--works with roof, trim, period style. No siding. Work with roof, current taupe-y trim, red brick in a coordinated way instead of trying to remuddle with gray. --You need new railing and porch before you think about walkway. Match the style of railing your neighbor has, but paint it a golden taupe. Steps can be taupe with brick trim as in this house below. Are you doing a small porch across the front? Then match porches your neighbors have only in the golden taupr. Front door: taupe as below (note bronze windows) dark red, or teal.

Note the large golden stepping stones in photo below. You could do that from the driveway where you get out of the car. The ground in most places is getting soft after winter, so it's a perfect time to lay down stepping stones per YouTube. Plan small garden borders with perennials and low shrubs on each side also as shown below. It's a tiny space but could be a lovely pathway up to your new stairs, door, and house.

The only reason for changing the brick would be if the added porch enclosure really doesn't match the brick of the house. In that case, you could consider getting the brick stained with a brown or gray to darken it and make the mismatch more intentional. For sure don't paint (which adds upkeep to a low-maintenance surface), and I'd try stain before siding, which looks cheaper.

Get a new/larger light by the door, more visible numbers (a modern plaque with a light background might help), and a bright and cheery door. Then work on the yard and walkway components, freshen the trim if needed (I like the color of the dormer shingles or a couple shades lighter), and wait before doing more.

I didn't even know you could stain brick. This is good information. Yes the issue is that the brick looks completely different since it was an addition. I like this as an option!

What are the steps made of? To my eye they detract from the house.

They are wood and in bad condition so definitely a plan to remove and redo them

I'm with all the others about keeping the current brick and making it work. If you do then steps like this would upgrade your façade by echoing your house as shown here:

Depending on your budget, consider replacing/extending the stairs toward the driveway. perhaps creating a small front porch. I'm a gardener all day, everyday but that little patch of grass is creating a very ackward entry and will always be a PITA to maintain. I'd tear it out and focus on creating an inviting entry from the street. If you get rid of the grass you might be ok with a single set of stairs in the front rather than two. You could leave a relatively small planting area up against the new porch and pave the rest. Finally, I know painting brick is usually frowned on here, but since it doesn't match the rest of the building, I'd consider painting it. It's a cute house, have fun making it even cuter.

@einportlandor makes a good point about the tiny greenery. You could do stone and brick steps and porch with front patio a new pandemic trend. Add a window box and some planters on the steps and call it done.

Congratulations on your new home! Looks like there’s not much of a landing on your steps, so I’d recommend making sure you have ample landing then stairs. You have enough space for a small front garden filled with native plants and shrubs to provide year round interest. It’s not a huge space but big enough for a nice variety. Walk around your neighborhood this spring and summer and take pics of plants you like (in similar sun conditions).
