Art ledge above piano - advice?

Sara

This is our piano and surrounding space with the largest frame we'd like to use. I'd like to swap out paintings and 3d objects with the seasons, and have settled upon a photo ledge as the most versatile way to do this without committing to picture hook placements or placing things directly on the piano to vibrate annoyingly. The second and third photos show a couple of possibilities, although my original idea was to use just one longer ledge. And that's where my confidence ends:

What color should the ledge(s) be? We have a mix of dark and medium woods in the rest of the room.

How long? The piano is 58 inches.

One, or two? If I went with two as demonstrated in photo #3, the large piece would likely have to go on the top shelf. Would that be too high?

How far above the piano?

All advice gratefully received!
