So far I repotted them with some of my worm castings and potting mix (promix) Now the question is...do I put them outside with protection or inside in the basement with a fan and light by the window? Thanks for the extra info. Were the plants that had BER more root bound / in the smaller pots? Im working on the theory that something prevented the buffering of the soil from rebounding from a ph change. Once things root bind in a container it is very easy for them to be exposed to pockets of soil that have no buffering agents distributed in them, and worse still, may have a pocket of low ph materials. I had a tomato plant that had BER on one stalk of the plant... at the end of the season I tracked its root into a unbroken up clump of peat... opps

Apparently for potted soils, the place I use, just adds sand to the garden soil, and calls it potting soil (which is what I use). CP is an indeterminate plant which would need a very large container - I think. I LOVE to grow in containers, but I stick to "compacts" and "dwarfs" that don't mind being confined. My Indian Stripe (strain of CP) is growing in the ground and probably 5' tall. I suspect that your plant is probably root-bound and unable to get enough nutrients out to those flowers so it is aborting some of them. It has probably already used up all the nutrients from the compost and worm castings. If you have a long enough season (bearing in mind that it takes 40+ days from the first sign of a flower to a ripe fruit), you could try adding some liquid fertilizer and keeping the plant well-watered.
