Sunscreen Treated Synthetics
Comments (21)Two words -skin cancer. My Dad died from it six months before my husband was diagnosed. Those two events put an end to my 27-year smoking habit and laying out. As a gardener, I've endured heat and sun sickness. Just not worth it. We have hiking clothes specifically treated and I use cold water, short cycle, low or air dry....See MoreDo you wear low cut swim wear up top?
Comments (28)Thank you. :) You're probably right eld. I overthink things sometimes. I always have to remind myself to just stop planning and do at some point. I bought a colourful coverup yesterday and will look for a high necked sleeveless swim top to go under my tankini. Hopefully I won't have your problem daisychain, with riding up, as mine isn't tightly fitted. We have confronted BIL at various times and the usual remorse and empty promises occur. Hopeless cause I'm afraid. It would be nice if no alcohol were in the summer mix, but that isn't fair to all those who can handle it. I will try the deadpan stare and walk away though, thanks for that suggestion! He might not see it through his alcohol haze and probably will still think he's hilarious. He's pretty thickheaded. People used to laugh with him, which I found astonishing, but not so much anymore....See More"Rash guards" - sun protection
Comments (41)Isn't Borneo considered partially South Pacific? Or is it in a different sea? It looks like it's between the Pacific and Indian Oceans. I'd like to go to the Great Barrier Reef also. I find the Caribbean expensive, but one of the reasons we went to Fiji instead of Tahiti is that hotels are about half the price. It's an 11 hour flight from L.A., and so that made it easy for me, but it would be far from the East Coast. I found Fiji to be completely enchanting, but it would be better to go during the peak season, I think. We went during cyclone season, but it did not rain that much while we were there and most of the days were sunny, but we were west of the main islands. I think if you've been to Bali and Malaysia that you don't need to go to Fiji, but I do think it's a wonderful place and it's definitely underdeveloped, considering the potential. One of the reasons for that is that it is rather remote. Most of the visitors are Australian. I wanted to go there because there are so many uninhabited islands and some of the islands only have very limited facilities. The island I really wanted to visit did not have electricity after midnight, and so that eliminated that one for me. I guess a swim cap is the same thing as a bathing cap, although bathing cap sounds more glamorous. Swim caps are worn mostly by competitive swimmers, but they would protect your scalp from sunburn. I'm planning on getting one or two anyway. I have a wetsuit cap, but that is very thick and is meant to keep my head warm. Cozumel has an airport, but I don't think it has as many flights as it used to, as people now fly to Cancun instead. I used to take that ferry from Playa del Carmen, but I also flew to/from Houston and New Orleans. Here are some more pictures from Fiji:This shows the resort where we stayed. Beach where we snorkeled. Sandbar that we visited by boat, seen in the background. Sunset photo with Samoan flying fox in the photo. We saw a lot of these at every sunset from our balcony and my brother got some good videos of them....See MoreEaster baskets?
Comments (21)We don't even celebrate Easter religiously, and my dd always got a basket with some good quality candy (mama don't like cheap chocolate, heh heh), a book or 3, some fun little items, socks, always an item of summer clothing, but the most fun was that we hid the basket in the house and had a series of clues she had to go through to find it; "I'm can be hot but usually I'm not" (the oven), "I'm a plant with blooms to wow the holes in your cranium, I'm a ________", etc. We used to make her go through about 10 clues before she got the one that led to the basket. It was fun and yes, it is absolutely pathetic that I can remember some of the rhymes I wrote and can't recall important info, like sending in my car registration. She's now a sophomore in college and still likes to find her clues, all the while protesting loudly, of course....See Morejojoco
