Our home has stained pine 6 panel doors that are in a very rich color. It is one of my favorite parts of the house and I have insisted that we keep the existing and match them as we go through this remodel. They are not very expensive but look good (to my eye anyway). I would do all the doors the same if I were you. : ) Sandy

I think it's nice to have a somewhat consistent face on nearby windows but they don't have to be identical. I like things to look essentially "white" on the outside (or neutralish). But I don't think the treatments have to be identical, or even similar. One thing about bamboo blinds is depending upon the width of the grasses used, they are essentially Transparent when lit from behind. (As in, when it's dark out, the blind is down and the room is lit up). This gives people a false sense of security, I think, because I have had neighbors who would put down their bamboo blinds and then walk around completely naked in front of the windows. So you may want to have at least a sheer lining on the back of the bamboo for added privacy and a more neutral appearance.

All our interior door hardware matches. Many of the exterior doors match the interior handles. The front door has a more ornate lockset. There are also a bunch of Anderson patio doors and those have a "compatible" but not attempted to be the same lockset on them. Wherever possible we have brushed nickel on the interior and a darker bronze on the exterior, though that's not always possible (some locksets you can't mix and match so you have to pick one). You do the best you can, but as long as you're not mixing ultra modern design satin nickel with polished brass victorian, things will work out...

@WoW Washington Unfortunately I'm missing one storm window. The storms are fine. just needs to be painted. I might be missing 1 set of screens that got damage. Two windows sashes have damage panes, but I have replacements in the garage. theoretically this looks easy to switch. one of the balance tubes might need to be adjusted or replace to get it to close properly. the weather stripping all around looks shot. the plastic thing is so brittle . but replacement weather stripping will take about 2 min per window to change. and its dirt cheap from marvin. (5 dollars a window) ZERO wood rot. just needs a sand + paint job on the outside. The biggest issue is that they were just caulked into place and fiber glass + caulking was put in to weather seal them. There is no sill flashing. I know this because I had to rip out the frame on oen window that was hit by a tree. (i wanted to see the rough opening before ordering) Its in the back of the house with a good over hang, so I don't see it being an issue. But foam + full flashing all around would have been my preferred method. I still have room to foam them on the sides, but still wont be 100%, but good enough. The other thing is I could just go a head and get tilt pac replacements from marvin. Cuz what i realized I would have to buy new brick mould to match the previous look and pay extra to have that installed. I attached a set of pictures, looks like a dimond in the rough? Part of me still looking at high end vinyl as a replacement for all the windows. I'm about to pull the trigger on a elevate replacement for the window that blew out. but i also just came back from Windsor dealer And im thoroughly impressed. sorry for the long post again :)
