A simple creamy white, almost light beige.

I have been looking for a backsplash for a similar kitchen combination. We are concerned that too white might make the cabinets look dingy, and too similar a beige tone would be too monochromatic with the cabinets. I did take a picture of this display at our local “The Tile Shop”. Some kind of subway tile like this, in the right tones, is something we are thinking about. (Cabinets were not as gray as they appear in the photo - more beige)

Nothing with veins or pattern, since your counter has a great deal of movement. I'd look for something in a simple shape, either subway or square, in a pale color. Maybe a bit of crackle or speckle if you don't want a flat/solid color, but I'd definitely not do anything marble or marble look.

Colors are tough on monitors, but maybe a pale mushroom would work (or that might be too similar to what you have?) or a soft sage? Hard to tell on my monitor. Get some samples and view them with your counters and cabinets in different lights.

Also, if your light bulbs are warm, that will make everything look more yellow.

No to glass. It's more a contemporary kitchen. Also it not an easy install.

I agree to simple. Match up the lightest cream in the granitevwith a ceramic tile.

Continue the countertop up and have it finished off at the end with some detailing...

Otherwise I’d do simple matching tile. You’ll have to sample quite a few to get the right tone...

You might try a color that is in your countertop for a backsplash. We suggest going to tile stores and getting samples to bring back home with you and see how they look with your countertops/cabinets/lighting.
