Congratulations on the new home! At first glance:

• You need a large rug to ground the area. I’d do creams, whites and soft blue going by the art print you show
• I like the art print. Not a fan of the sconces. They look a little “craftsy” to me and not jibing with the brass and glass end table you have
• I’d bring white/ivory to the ottoman versus brown to the couch. Maybe place a large ivory round tray on the ottoman with 2 decor pieces on it, like vases in two different sizes
• I think I’d also play around with couch and tv placement to avoid the tv on the fireplace. The tv looks too big for the fireplace, honestly, and is taking it over. Can you rotate the couch 40 degrees to the right, so that one part of the sectional faces the window wall? You could then get a low console for that wall to place your tv on

I think the nesting tables are a good height with the arm of the sectional. With the sectional squished against the wall isn't it hard to see the TV? Try pulling the sectional off the wall and putting the tables on the window end of the sectional. Are you planning to get a rug? I don't think I would get dark tables. The floor and the ottoman are enough dark. Don't hang the art until furniture placement is set. What's going under the hanging light?

I know everyone tells me not to put the TV over the fireplace but we really like it there. I dont want to rotate the sofa and have you walk into the room and see the back of the sofa. I like the openness of the room. I understand people dont like the TV over the fireplace but we do like it so it will stay. I think you are right about bringing the cream to the ottoman, vases wont work with our crazy frenchies zooming around, but a blanket and tray would work for sure.

A rug will come. I will have to order from Ruggable so it can be washed!

How about end tables? The gold ones are too small.

The hanging light will be replaced, probably with some sort of ceiling fan.

I understand on the tv. Maybe consider a Frame tv, then. It looks like artwork when not in use and has a sleek form.

I DEFINITELY am considering the Frame TV. I love those!

Do these flower prints work with the big print?

My husband wants a recliner in this spot. Not this one of course. Will it be ok? I feel like it’s odd because it’s in the door way, but there is still plenty of walkway.

The recliner doesn’t bother me in that location, but I feel like you need to turn the rug the other way and get the feet of the recliner on it as well. Is that a new rug bought specifically for this room? I am not sure it is the correct dimensions. The flower prints look good to me.

As for paintings, they should be centered over the furniture not the wall, hangs approximately 57” from the floor (or 5-8 inches above the couch).

This room has had lots of changes. I will take pics when I get home. I cant seem to post them from my gallery.

Here are some pics of the Samsung Frame Tv. I got a gold frame to go with the gold light fixtures and tables.

And the sofa. I need a swivel recliner for my husband. The red one has got to go.

I love the colors and being washable. The color variations won’t show obvious dirty paw prints either.

Now if I could just find a recliner I can live with that my husband loves.
