Pental Quartz - Amarcord

Does anyone have the new color Amarcord installed in their kitchen? We looked at slabs yesterday and fell in love with this color but the only photos I can find are on the manufacturer website. We also really loved the new color Volokano and Stonington. I feel like this is a crazy difficult decision. Our island will be 10'10"x5' so it's definitely a focal point. Our perimeter cabinets will be white with a dark charcoal island. Any photos/advice is greatly appreciated!

If it's super-new, there might not be examples around. Is this different from Viscostone Amarcord?

acm - they added these colors last February, so new'ish. I do believe they are the same. I think that Pental, Vicostone, and Metroquartz are all the same with different names. I saw a thread a few months back about the Volakano which came out at the same time. Super helpful!! I was hoping someone on here had used Amarcord as well.

I can only comment on your statement that manufacturers wouldn't manufacture problematic stuff. I certainly wouldn't rely on that in terms of what are cosmetic issues of maintenance. People use counters in all kinds of different ways. Many people never cook and therefore could use high maintenance materials with no issues. Some people have housekeepers who clean. Others have different standards so fingerprints and splotches wouldn't bother them. Not the same thing but I am having marble counter installed in my master bath. I know it is higher maintenance than porcelain might be but my use for the master bath is not as hard as it might be for others since I live alone - don't dye my hair and I also am fine with the marble acquiring a patina. FWIW, I opted for honed marble floor and counter both for appearances and also because to the extent it etched, it would be less noticeable with a honed surface. Other people might make different choices of a material based on how they are using the room and also what their tolerance is for normal wear and tear.

Coke and Pepsi are carbonated water, flavor, and colors; virtually the same thing. So are all the other soft drinks with little variation. There are a handful of engineered stone manufacturing plants around the world. No matter the brand, your estone came from one of them. Virtually every one takes 1/3 resin and mixes it with 2/3 quartz and out come the slabs. Sure, like soft drinks, there are minor variations in color/flavor, but again, like soft drinks, it's all the same stuff.

Those pics will not help unless every little thing is exactly like your space . Why plastic quartz at all ? There are 100s of awesome real stones they often are the same price as the plastic and have none of the issues this whole idea that fake stone is better is not IMO ever a good choice. Check out some white granites

I saw Volokano when we visited a Pental showroom. Very pretty. I think you'll be pleased with either, but Volokano has more motion. Maybe that would be a good choice with your good-sized island. Pental has a picture or two of each as counter and backsplash.

Pental’s Stonington is what I just had installed in my kitchen and I love it. There is movement so the fabricator and you will need to keep that in mind as you determine placement and the amount of slabs you will need. I used the factory recommended seam adhesive for nearly invisible seams.

I was also interested in Amarcord, and would love to know if anyone has had this installed.
