Anyone subscribe to the New Yorker magazine?

I am trying to help an elderly friend find out whether she missed a copy of her New Yorker subscription. She has the December 30, 2021 issue and the January 17, 2022 issue. She is trying to figure out whether there was one in between that failed to reach her. Does anyone get the magazine, on line or paper, who can let me know the date of the possibly missing copy?

P.S. She is frail, hospitalized, and quarantined. Otherwise I would have options for doing the search myself.

I googled for New Yorker January 2022 and this show one combined issue for Jan 3 and Jan 10

I have gotten Sunset magazine off and on through the years, and I know it's not solely a garden magazine, but I enjoy their gardening articles. It's nice that it also has info on travel and cooking. But Sunset's focus is the West, so if you're east of the Rockies, it's not great for you. I also received Fine Gardening for a year, and I did like it, but I didn't like the price. With Sunset, I usually take a break from subscribing until they send me the $12/year offer, and then I resubscribe. I got an email from Taunton Press recently, which publishes Fine Gardening, and they have a special publication I'm interested in. It's called Great Gardens, and it's a soft-cover (magazine-style, I think) publication that has photos from the nation's "top 12" gardens and instruction on how to emulate them. Several years ago I decided to stop getting Readers Digest. They sent me many, many "last issues" (maybe a years worth) I read the magazines, but ignored the last chance warning. Then they tried to bill me. Constantly. Borderline harrassment. I really got ugly with someone on the phone and it quit. When my sister and her DH bought a house it had dual zoning. Because it had an expiration to the business side of the zoning, he recorded a business name he someday hopes to open. They get loads of free magazines they never asked for. It comes addressed to their "business"...which does not yet exist.

I subscribe to it and it is one of my favorite magazines, especially now with the new format and the getting away from all the earthy colors. I ordered all the back issues I could off their web site and checked at Ebay but the sold out issues were going for too much money. I have used the ideas for inspiration and like to do their challenges for my own amusement. I submitted something once and they kept it for months saying they would use it, then they returned it without publishing it. Maybe next time!

I've never seen it, but it sounds exactly like our Style at Home magazine. It wouldn't interest me in the least. HGTV has gone too far in that direction. They might as well drop the "G" as they have nothing on gardening.

Based on how many we own and have around the house, I would estimate they publish twice daily.

I read them in a timely fashion, but my husband asks that I save them for him. You should see the pile....

I‘m a subscriber, and they do a combined issue the first two weeks of January. I love that issue with all of the puzzles!!

When I travel, I take the issues I haven't read yet and discard them as I read them. My husband somehow manages to keep up, but I simply cannot... We do have heaps of them around the house, especially as our travel during Covid times is much-reduced.

I will say there are nice and thin and easy to drop in a tote or purse. I also find many/most of the covers attractive. Oh yeah, and the writing! : )

The writing has gotten much better and more interesting under David Remnick. I was not a fan of the Tina Brown years.

Long time subscribers. Glad you have already solved the puzzle for your friend, graywings. I used to take ours to the cancer center for the lobby, but of course not with the virus. I love Anthony Lane's movie reviews. (The Shouts and Murmurs isn't doing its job lately, though.)

Around here the mail really doesn't like New Yorkers. I have late copies all the time. Last spring I missed 5 copies/weeks in a row, sadly cancelled my subscription, then all 5 arrived the following day and I cancelled my cancellation. Now I haven't gotten an issue since the Dec. 27th one. No one has any explanation, the post office just shrugs.
