Paint Design Dilemma hallway

Wood Slats Accent Stain/paint color.

Hi. I need help picking a color for my verticle slats.

The slats will run across the entire wall in a short hallway. The main color of my living space is Behr platinum Behr(.com) says it's a tone of grey-green but in reality more light blue-grey. So their old tool doesn't really help pick a good color

My verticle slats are laying on a black wall(But willing to change that). But you can only see that when looking at it head-on. As of now, it looks a bit jarring. What should be a good color to stain/paint the slats?

I guess I need to know what the reason for the slats was in the first place .I gray/ greens for wall color and IMO the wood left natural would be my chice with the black wall. Have you checked all your lighting to make sure it is LED 4000K that has ahuge effect on how colors are preseved .Your floors look gray on my monitor what color are they?

Just going for a modern look around the house. The bulbs are 5k. but even in the room with just sunlight. I would have a hard time convincing people it was a tone of green. The floors are pretty much shades of grey.

Sarahbr, although I like your tile very much, for my master bath I'm looking for a darker almost black color. The more flooring stores I go to I'm learning bigger is what's in even in herringbone pattern, therefore I'm only finding 6x24 as the smallest porcelain floor tile. I may cave and just do that. I went to two more flooring stores today and they both have installed 6x24 herringbone in mid sized and small bathrooms. I saw Chip and Joanne just do a bathroom in herringbone pattern and the tiles look larger. Lol love their show!

that gray is very cool green would work too I'd say that's a question of your preference..and yes don't go too light, mid range or darker you can then bring all sorts of things to make it lighter/brighter if that's what you'd like art, bedding, you name it love the room, love the bed, and your plans

I lived in an apartment with similar wood trim and was deciding between BM stonington gray and BM revere pewter, which another poster suggested. (I also tried abalone). I painted swatches on several walls with different light saturations and watched them over the course of a day. I ended up choosing BM revere pewter and loved it until we moved out. I think it's really helpful to observe your actual light in your home with these gray colors as they can have purple, blue and even green tones depending on the time of day and light.

I agree with the Halcyon! It flows with the main house color, but highlights the cedar shake just enough. About the Rainwashed vs Sea Salt- can you get samples painted on the house to compare and see exactly how they look throughout the day? In general it's always best if you can see a paint color on the wall you're planning on using it on, colors look different on a screen vs on a wall with light and shadows, etc.

I think 5K is too much blue so change the bulbs to 4K

I would remove the slats. They just do not look great there. A lighter color wall, rather than black, in that particular location would be much nicer. I also agree, 5000 bulbs is too much blue. 3500 or 4000 would be more than enough.
