Not certain my LED lighting is what you’re seeking but our garage has a variety. We reside upper midwest however the garage is heated,

i have 4, 8-foot LED shop lights traditionally switched. Mid-space is a square motion sensor LED that I let operate when the garage door opens. Also mid-space is a 3- panel LED with motion sensor that I’ve switched off and operate manually as needed.

I know motion switches are available but my choice is to use task lighting when needed and let motion sensor activate space illumination.

I was thinking about getting one of those batwing kind that screw into the porcelain socket overhead. We have long hanging LED shop lights for task lighting. They’re great. I suppose we could pull out that socket and put in panels or strips like yours too. Thanks for the suggestion.

Wait - you do have one of those too. Do you use it? Preference?

Failed to comment that my LED’s worked faithfully before the garage was heated. I turned the motion sensor of the ”batwing” one off because there are bedrooms above our garage. The light was activating whenever someone walked there. No issue with the one in use presently.

I purchased my ”batwing” from Griots Garage”. More costly but better made than ones promoted on TV.

OMG, that’s funny. I’d use an IR sensor in a wall switch, and we have nothing overhead. Finding one that works with those lights has me stumped. There are so many specs regarding temp and the size of the light. Ugh.

I bought a motion sensor high lumen light for my parent's garage. They had an older motion sensor wall switch installed with a CFL bulb. I put in the new bulb and had an instant strobe light. After installing an ordinary light switch, the motion sensor bulb works great.

Yeah, that’s the problem. Finding one that’s compatible. I’d rather have the MD for the auto off. So for now at least we will keep the giant billion watt light, lol.

Koda makes clean-looking LED Garage/shop lights that have a motion sensor built in. All you have to do is screw them to the ceiling and plug the cord in...and you can link several together. They aren't expensive and seem to work well. I use them in my garage an they provide bright, but pleasant light. I got mine at Costco over a year ago and they have been working flawlessly. It's very nice to be able to walk into my garage with my arms full and not have to fumble for a light switch. Koda light
