Backsplash inspiration!!

We really need help with backsplash ideas. Wall color will be SW Passive. Below are the options and the kitchen photo. Please help!

But here are my thoughts:
Nice space!
You currently have a 4” backsplash and if you’d like to add a tile all the way up the wall, I’d remove the 4” piece. But I don’t think you really need anything more.
Would you be open to doing brass hardware? I think it would give the space something extra. But understand that you probably just got new. And it looks fine as is.
For a backsplash in here I’d probably keep it simple being that you have colored cabinets and Island.

I’d either
- match the countertops
- plain white tile in an interesting shape. Like a picket shape. Maybe.
- do you like the Chloe type tile. The handcrafted look? I think that could work too.
- or maybe a textured tile. In a more typical shape.

Thanks for the replies! I was online looking at the brown granites today. I tend to think everything has to be a perfect match and I really want to get out of that habit w/ this new build. The pic is from the Sonoma Tile Co. website. The current pic only shows the area under the hood and not the wider view like the pic I posted. Cleo - The $3200 was for the whole backsplash. The main wall is 16' and I don't know if the KD was going to carry it over to the other 5'. I really just wanted to get a ballpark figure so I would know if I needed to go another route (read that as cheaper). We aren't starting until May, so I have plenty of time to figure this out. I have gotten so many ideas from this forum!

Stephanie - Just saw this. Our walls are some shade of tan (sorry can't recall the fancy name right now - LOL - from the BM Aura line). Here are a few pics from when we were in progress (before I did the backsplash, first one is actually with our old cabinets still up when we were first painting, the others - you can see where we painted vs white drywall / primer where the old cabinets wer, etc). I haven't had a chance to do full pics of the entire finished kitchen yet but these should give you some idea of the wall color. I am hoping late this week to get full finished photo's up of everything I think the FIre and Ice would go great with your granite choices. As to samples - my local tile dealer in Pittsburgh ordered me samples - but I was local. Perhaps you could call one of the dealers 3 hrs away and ask if they could have a smaple sent directly to you. My tile dealer ordered them at no cost and would have wanted them back if I didn't go with the tile (but I did so he said just keep the sample). And yes - I am sure you could add whatever color glass accent pieces you wanted as long as you can find the color you want in that size. I know the people I dealt with at Morena tile were quite helpful (they shipped to me from California - I ordered the glass Burnt Umber suqares over the phone). There was a slight shipping mishap (I had ordered two sheets and alas they did not package them well so a number of tiles ended up chipped or broken - but they more than made it right for me so I recommend giving them a call to see what other colors (other than #39 Burnt Umber) those glass squares come in) Hope this helps

I would definitely consider a marble backsplash: carrera, calcutta gold or calcutta oro would all look fantastic. You could go with just about any size: standard subway, big rectangles, long skinny rectangles, mosaic, or hex (fantastic idea ptamom). Alternatively, I might consider a mosaic with marble and glass.

Are you removing the 4" backsplash? As others have said, if you're not removing it, don't add tile (or any other backsplash) on top of that.

The blue could work.

You need to decide if you want to stay subtle or go bold.

And, you could go subtle but with an interesting shape.

Bold with a patterned tile that can incorporate the blue.

Many options.

Thanks everyone so much for all your feedback and pictures of ideas. It really helps ὠ0 This is our first time getting backsplash done. Do we measure on our own or get a contractor to measure and tell us how much tile we will need?

You can measure .... all you need is sqf

You can find the total square feet of the wall by multiplying ceiling height by total wall length. (Subtract areas that will not be covered)

To buy the tile all you need is to indicate how many sqf you need... make sure to add an additional 10 - 15%
