Water leak in basement from kitchen dishwasher
Comments (4)This is like asking a blood bank nurse about the tightness in your chest and whether or not it's your heart or lungs. You really should be in an emergency room explaining that tightness to a doctor who will run more tests to find out exactly what the problem might be. Leaking water can be from multiple sources! Is it a constant drip always, or a slow drip always, or a slow drip only after using the DW? Are there any newly installed elements to your kitchen plumbing? How old is the DW? The disposal? First order of investigation would be to inspect the DW/disposal connection for tightness and then view the condtion of the sink base cabinet. Unhook the DW electrical and plumbing and unscrew the anti tip bracket and slide the DW out and examine the floor under it. Remove the ceiling panels and use a flash light to see what you can see visually from your kitchen drain as it goes into the main drain line. If you can personally find out where the leak is coming from, then you can decide if you can DIY the repair of the problem or call the plumber or appliance repair person....See MoreWater leaking from window frame and ceiling
Comments (4)We are having the same the oroblem. Our first floor window lieaks above the top from the frame. This 1st story window is directly below the 2nd floor window. We have caulked the second story window and caulked the brick mortar. It still leaks when we have a blowing rain, The first level window frame is slightly damaged but the window above it is fine, It has to be coming from the 2nd floor because the first level has a nice dry wrap around porch protecting it, Thanks...See Morewater leaking from shower into bedroom downstairs
Comments (64)The diagram for installing a shower pan won't discuss waterproofing - it will just show the install of their pan.. Are you able to access inside the wall where the waterlines are for the shower faucet?? The whole time you are assuming it is the pan and it very well could be a leak in the pipes. If there is no water leaking when the shower is off, then it could be in the lines from the valve to the showerhead or handheld. Goodness - I hope you find it before having to just tear everything out......See MoreLeaking from ceiling from directly below shower
Comments (3)I would strongly advise getting a licensed plumber out to your house, and let that person determine the source and what needs to be done to fix the problem. If you have wet drywall ceiling, that moisture is most likely continuing to spread from the part that you immediately noticed into the surrounding portions of ceiling drywall, and if the spot began in a corner area that meets a side wall the moisture might spread down that wall too. The stuff commonly used in places outside of so-called "wet rooms" (bathroom, kitchen) isn't water resistant and it tends to suck up water like a dry sponge would. It might appear that the leaking has stopped, but depending on the source, it could be continuing to slowly drip without you really knowing that is occurring. This is why you need a plumber to find and repair, but you should be prepared to hear that you'll also need to call someone to put in new drywall - unless you're okay with a big section cut out of the ceiling so the plumbing-related repair(s) can be done. :P...See MoreNina S
