I'd try the candle in the middle of the table, or on top of the cabinet, and move the table base somewhere else.

What are on the other walls in the room? Do you have a rug?

I would start with a single, largish plant on top. Then if you find another treasure such as a large vase or pitcher, try that. I would only do pictures on each side if you already have something you love. Don't go out and buy just anything.

I’m trying to peek inside that pretty cabinet for possibilities. I do like your idea of a largish set of framed print on each side - maybe rectangular in shape & a simple old fashioned floral. maybe narrow black frames to tie in with table & light. For top, I’m looking at that large platter on bottom shelf of cabinet. Either hang it on wall above cabinet with a plate hanger & play with a couple other china pieces to display sitting on top. Or, set platter in on a large easel & try a couple pieces. to pair with it

I don't think you need anything on top of it. I like two large prints flanking either side.

Sammie the candle would work in the middle if the table. the base is metal bird bath which was too pretty to put outside. the other end of the room is my lr waiting fir 2 chairs and an area rug - possibly a small fireplace

I think a plant of dome kind would soften that end - something with low light.

I picked up some cute tiny lights on a copper wire at Dollar Tree. They're battery operated so you could stuff them in those two round cut glass or crystal containers and set them on top. If there's a serving platter with your grandmother's dishes you could put it on a plate stand behind them.

Very pretty cabinet, dishes and display on top of the cabinet. I agree with others about removing the bird bath. What about a silver coloured low pedestal type thing with some ivy trailing out (on top of cabinet) with some of your other silver items

no platter w grandmas dishes- they were a serving set from 1922 divided among the 3 of us

in the lower shelf i have my grandmothers chins from 1922 but in blue pattern

Pretty display & even with the number of items it looks light since several are clear glass & there’s no color. The dishes inside cabinet have such a pretty & old fashioned pattern. For me, after I put away the seasonal decor of trees & maybe deer, I’d want to try a couple of the larger pieces on top just to enjoy the color & pattern more.
