Possible Antique China Cabinet Identification
Comments (5)Its not antique but its a nice reproduction French provincial armoire, not a china cabinet. The original would've had tightly shirred fabric behind the mesh. Yours was designed as a lit bookcase, probably. It depends upon where you are located as to how much you will get. Until furniture is at least 50 years old, or comes back into fashion, its generally used furniture, with a few exceptions. A dealer in my area has a similar cabinet listed at $1100, another at $800, so as an individual trying to sell something like this I would expect to get no more than half of that--if you find someone interested. So, as Linda said maybe~ $400 or less. You could try eBay, because it has a wider base, but because of the size it would have to appeal to someone in your area....See MoreDarkening shelf detail on antique oak china cabinet
Comments (12)I did have things in it, I took them out to rearrange. I realized a center shelf cleat was missing and made a new one. While the china was out, I thought this would be a good time to shoot it and to ask about the shelves. I didnÂt know that the inside was normally unfinished. I wonder why that was? (Is it because it IS a bookcase not actually a china cabinet? The store said it was when I bought it. But to me it was ideal as a china cabinet as it has more shelves than most.) And when did manufacturers start finishing insides? My c.1908 oak breakfront and c. 1930Âs walnut cabinet are finished inside. But I have no idea how old the one I just posted is. (GoshÂjust realized I have 3 china cabinetsÂall filled)...See MoreAntique China Cabinet - Need Help Identifying

Comments (1)You can advertise in the newspaper classifieds, do a local listing on ebay, or check your area for consignment stores (hopefully one that doesn't charge too much for pick-up). I would first check around and see what items like you have are actually selling for. Look at completed auctions on ebay, prices in antique stores and consignment shops. Post pictures here, a poster might be able to give you an idea of the demand for your items....See MoreSharon Wettlaufer
