Comments (27)Great pics everyone and yes Paula, you deserve thanks for the A-Z part as well as what's still to come. I'll break the ice on Xs with X-cellent. I wouldv'e bought this one even it didn't begin with X. I love Beilstein Hosta. Yesterday's Memories - I bought this one hoping for a reverse Wave Runner. Perhaps it needs more direct sun, but it's starting to strut its stuff after 3 years in the garden. Yosemite Valley starts turning yellow in early June but really starts glowing in early July and holds its own into early August. Planted in direct sun from about 9:00 - Noon. And I picked up a Z last year, so it's not strutting yet, but I have high hopes for it. Zucchini Fries: Almost forgot, I finally got my Yellow Polka Dot Bikini on last year. I always thought it was identical to Hanky Panky, but didn't look it last year. Not really fair to assess greenhouse stock against my yard so this year should tell a better tale. Now I just need to go back and do the Tease to finish up....See MoreHosta Seedlings and Sports 2021 ...........................
Comments (24)i've got a couple that are close but need more time. they all basically come out of the mcwilliams line. like wildest dreams. i grow streakers from it every year. it takes alot of plants to get a good variegated one. usually takes years to settle, and its unpredictable. too much white either way and it won't grow well enough, or they burn out too much. ...so 15 years working with that one. interesting. i bought a red cadet this year. so will try those genes as well. although driven by the mother riptide. apparently blue cadet came out of tokudama. there are alot of species that people don't work with much anymore. the problem is they stayed too much within their bloom period. i aim to change that....See MoreHosta Shade Lovers 2021
Comments (8)I could definitely get behind no more winter! Lovely utog. I have many that enjoy shade but I will show ones that need to be moved to more shade. Fall Dazzler nice early then by mid June you can see browning edges. By the time the late flowers arrive it is positively ratty. Oze has thin leaves and gets too much sun making this already difficult to grow one suffer. Strawberry Yogurt looks poorly but by the time it blooms you can really see damage. Needs more shade for sure!...See Morehosta_maker
