Gorgeous! The mature shrubs needed to be removed. However, it looks like they were in raised beds, which helped ground the house. Is that expensive landscaping you installed, or can you explore raising the foundation beds? Really nice job!

Definitely consider deepening the planting beds. It will give you more plant options and look more lush. Great job on the house!

Don't bother with stone. When the foundation plantings fill in, you won't see it.

Fix the patchy lawn instead.

Leave the gable. With the shutters and window boxes, you have plenty of interest for your small house. Don't clutter up the facade with too much.

Lots of great ideas! Maybe redo the front steps to add stone veneer and a fancier railing? Depending on your budget, raise the planters (make them match the stairs) and then maybe add more stone to the house. But the foundation plants usually get to 3’ in height, and would hide the stone veneer on the house.

Or if you plant some shrubs, may be no need in stones

@shadywillowfarm thanks for the reply! I definitely see your point with the plants hiding the stone work. The house had these giant planters and they were full of ants! Which is why I'm a bit hesitant putting them back in, but I do see your point...

Great job with the white and black. Completely transforms the property in the best possible way. I vote no on stone for foundation. It will look fake and improving the beds, plantings and lawn is the secret. For balance, pull out a curved bed on the right and plant an clump of birch (or trees that are good for you location). I love birches because of the year round interest, even when leaves fall. Nice job! Merry Christmas!!

Here is rough mock up. I couldn’t find beds with dark mulch but dark mulch in larger bed would provide that visual grounding for your property. Cute house.

I’m a sucker for birch trees, but make sure you get a dwarf variety because they get real huge real fast.
