When I write "Monsieur Tillier ex Beales" I intend the Rose which have been re-introduced in commerce by Peter Beales Roses as "Monsieur Tillier". I think it came directly from Mr Wyatt Teas collection. This kind of naming help us (me and those who are trying to understand something on the subject - thanks a lot to them!) to understand where a rose came from, and to trace better the history, both of the Rose and her mistaken name. Sometimes It's easy to trace back, in Europe, the history of a mistaken name, since we can achieve the original source of the Rose. You know, there are many, many mix-ups, especially with Teas and Chinas, as those heat-lovers have been grown -and preserved- for longtime only in the cooler parts of Europe. Very often, there's something which ties togheter the history of the rose in different nurseries, and that's interesting, too. But you definitely know the story much better than me... ;o) I've received a few Teas from Beales past year, and more than a half was mislabelled! I've asked directly Peter Beales Roses, questioning (Peter himself say "challenging") these and many other Teas (but not only) in their catalogue. I'm happy to say that finally Mrs Limmer have been given the task of ascertaining the authenticity of the roses we have "questioned". So, we are in touch with her. Thanks to Jocelen Janon help, 'Monsieur Tillier' has already been correct as 'Marie Nabonnand' in PB Catalogue! Ciao! Maurizio

I'm so sorry this happened to your lovely granite! And thank you fabricators for piping in to let us know that this can be repaired. I really don't understand the liberties some guests take in a home. And I agree that it's frustrating to be labeled "b*tchy" when you're trying to protect something that means a lot to you that you spent a lot of money on. Just the other week I had some guests (male) over who were eating Doritos and then putting their hands (without washing or using a napkin) on some white chairs in my living room. Argh! I felt terrible asking, but I just couldn't stand the thought of orange fingerprints on chairs that I saved up to buy. We want to share our homes with guests, but I think it's fair to ask that they respect the space and be careful not to do damage. I hope the repair turns out perfectly!

Thanks for the heads up about rentals! Good idea. Lynn, we experienced this lack of parts support with our Samsung induction. We've only had it 7 years and when the burners died, we could not get the parts because those models are no longer supported. The tech was on the phone for almost two hours trying to find the parts, which apparently the last were sold a few months back. That coupled with that they no longer make this particular freestanding range model meant we had to get another range. We cook pretty much every day. Frustrating because the oven and everything worked great, so we had to cook without using burners. Our neighbor asked us if he could take it and haul it for scrap, so we said sure. There are not a whole lot of places that keep induction in stock. At Lowe's they would all have to be ordered and take 4-6 weeks! Sears actually does keep a variety of induction in stock (Kenmore, Electrolux, and KA), and I was able to find an Electrolux floor model from Sears for a great price and get it delivered in a couple of days. I'ts great, but it's way more tech than the Samsung, so even we've had a bit of a learning curve on it.

The stunted growth isn't from watering, it's from the plant growing in lower light. Plants photosynthesize sunlight in order to produce the food they need to grow. Lower light means less food. Less food means slower/stunted growth. New growth doesn't grow indefinitely until it reaches a certain size. It has a particular timeframe in which this new growth can grow, if that makes any sense. If it doesn't get enough energy during this period of growth, then those leaves will remain stunted and won't grow any further. I have a Monstera deliciosa that does this every year. When I move it outdoors in the spring and summer, any new leaves will grow huge. When I bring it back inside for the fall and winter, then any new leaves will grow much smaller. Just move your plant to where it can get as much sunlight as it can tolerate without getting sunburned, and it will grow new leaves to their fullest potential. As for "overwatering," this is an often misunderstood concept. Overwatering has nothing to do with how much water you give your plant, but rather how much water your plant's soil holds on to after you've watered it. If your plant's soil stays too soggy, then you're having soil issues, not watering issues. I would repot your plant in a soil mix that drains well and doesn't stay soggy. Because when you do water any plant, you should always flush the soil out with more than enough water, to where it's freely draining out of the bottom of the pot. If you have to temporarily move your plant to a sink or or tub, then do so. For my plants, I like to place them inside of a slightly larger bucket and let the whole pot soak in water up to the soil line. After half an hour or so, I let the excess water drain away, and then I flush to whole pot out with even more fresh water until it starts to run clear from the drainage holes. This flushes out any dissolved minerals from the soil and prevents them from accumulating in the soil over time. Once any remaining water has drained away, then I move my plants back to where I keep them. Not once have I ever "overwatered" any of my plants.
