I just received my doors from Southern Front Doors in Texas. I found a door I liked in a house in Palm Desert and I found a similar door on Borano.com, but it was expensive....I called Southern Front, they made my doors custom from the photos and they are wonderful and quite a bit less money. Jason was great!! The doors were perfect and they were packed very carefully. I received them in 5 weeks as they said. I'll post photos tomorrow.

We purchased ours online at doorsuperstore.com. Great quality, good price. I also talked with the guy at manorhousedoors.com when I didn't think we were going to get our door in time (due to hurricane in TX), and he had excellent customer service and a nice price as well (he was willing to price match -- plus he answered the phone after hours). If you don't feel comfortable ordering online, your lumber supply house probably carries some, then there is always the big box stores... GL :o)

Thanks everyone for your comments.... I'm afraid I don't think about doors very much, so I don't know what looks good or not. It seems like a wood look and glass are what "looks good" and I want neither. Wood grain is fine, but the door is going to be painted. I agree about the jamb being key to security. I'm definitely going to beef up that part with a stud between the door and sidelight and a better strike plate. I realize that anyone who really wants to get in will, however I'm counting on most would-be robbers being discouraged by slightly above average security measures. But I don't want to make my house into Fort Knox! :-) Would anyone here tell me what the starting price is for a Provia steel door, no glass, and no sidelight? I'm just trying to get a feel for what kind of costs I need to look at. Thanks again.

We are very happy with both of our W. Schillig leather sectionals (both are contemporary in design/ style). Both of ours were built in their Asian (China) factories, but they also have styles that are built in their European factories if country of origin is an issue. I'd posted in the Furniture forum re: issues our first sectional (in our living room) had had, which were all resolved early on. We got our second W. Schillig sectional for the family room a few years later, so we were obviously happy with any issue resolution. I think a key thing, is to order from a reputable dealer/showroom; one that will stand behind what they sell and follow through with the manufacturer if there are any problems. I called W. Schillig USA in High Point last year to inquire about obtaining (purchasing) replacement feet for our LR sectional. A strip of the black veneer on one of the feet had chipped off (after a good whack with the vacuum most likely). New feet (to replace all of them) were sent out at no charge. The sectional was about 8 or 9 years old at this point, so it was quite a nice surprise that they sent them at no charge.
