Living Room help!

I found a round sofa table that I like for my living room. I‘m debating on the color fabric to choose. My rug has slate blue, cream, beige and grey. Since my sectional is cream I was thinking of going with a solid gray fabric to keep things neutral. I want to be able to change up the pillows every so often, so that‘s why I‘m not going with a pattern. Any thoughts and suggestions?

Additionally, my couch hangs into my window so I can’t

hang curtains. Any suggestions for window treatments?

For the table I’d go with matching to the sofa. But I actually like what’s shown. The stripe is nice.

For curtains you can do roller shade. Prob best option.
Otherwise Roman shade.
Or curtains behind the sofa.

Matching the sofa may be tough since I buying it from a different furniture store. Thanks for the advice!

Start by making the t v wall more important. Using the wall paint color, paint a wider (wider the better) console with it. Inspiration photo. Add some (real) greenery, put in a wicker plant stand to work with the accent color in the rug. Scout around for LED battery powered wall sconces in brushed brass. Move the rug and the sectional a bit more to the right so you have more of a path by the window to get in and out of the room. Good place for tripod floor lamp. You can make this off-side work if you center the new console on the wall, but install the t v more to the right of the wall so it aligns with the center of the sectional. This is where you hang the artwork. Your real estate paperwork should have blueprints and measurements of all the rooms, no? Your furniture seems too big for the space you have. Ideally, you could float your sofa where the chairs are, float the chairs to face the sofa, and move the TV to left of fireplace. However, you don't really have a way to get through the living room. Any chance you could return the sofa for two more chairs? This is what's often advised in such small spaces. Paint the entire space a warm white that works with the floors. Get your blues and mustard in there with art work and rugs. You've already made a start. Jan offered a good suggestion to swap the middle space--current dining room--for living room. If you have an attractive eating space in the kitchen--do you?--then a beautiful round table or a long retangular table with casual but upholstered armchairs (less formal than these) could be very inviting as you walk in. Then no problem with walkways. Do a Google search for "switch living room and dining room." Lots of great photos as examples and how to do it. Here's a photo of a front door that opens into dining space. The chest and mirror by the door gives the sense of an entryway along with the hooks.

It looks like maybe you are not in the US? BM Edgecomb gray is a light warm gray that should look good with your tile and plays well with others if you have access to it.

I would pick up color from your rug to pop up you want.

I'd use a solid, dark bluish gray for the ottoman, that picks up the darkest color in your rug. Or consider a small glass topped table. Have you measured to be sure it will fit between the two sides of the sectional? You need 18" of space on all three sides. You might be better off just using another end table. Something narrow that would fit on the rug.

You've got a great eye. Are you opposed to a glass table? Your rug is beautiful and looks great in the room but most of it is covered by the sofa and the rest is going to be swallowed by an upholstered table. If you get glass we still get to see your rug and you don't have to worry about the color match.

IMO no table would be best since there is so little space for one add an end table at the end with none maybe even one that slides under the soafe to create and end table and next time buy furniture that fits the space and gives you many more comfy seats .

You could try roman shades for the windows. We think you might be able to do a color from your rug for the table, that way you could still change out the pillows to other colors when wanted. Jeannie, can you post photos of the nearby areas? Do you like soft white idea, just as stair railing is? tie in with elements in the area is an option- probably more casual than the cool metal finishes [of art and table], if you want.

I found this ottoman in a size that allows enough space all around. Can be returned so I’m looking for thoughts. I would love a glass table, but I’m having a hard time finding a 30 inch round one. I appreciate all your comments!

I think it looked better without. The space is small, so it's cramped. The tufting is a bit at odds with sofa and rug style. Do you have room for a small table at the arm of the sofa?

I have an end table at the end of the chaise. There’s isn’t room for one at the end of the couch.
