Thanks zl700. Oh I believe I understand now. The supply line is under pressure that supplies the p-trap. I really didnt want any lines under the slab that are under pressure but I will still keep this in mind. I like the idea of the drain in the link you posted. I really was looking for a non-pressurized gravity flow feed to our floor drain. Since I posted last time I have thought about piping the drain for the washing machine directly to the side of the p-trap if they make p-traps with connections like that...do they ?

It seems I might have to install one based on the information I found below. Notice in 2000 Edition, it specifically mention the "Deep Seal" Or "Trap Seal Primer". In 2006 Edition, the "Deep Seal" is removed, and it has "Trap Seal Primer" or "Other Approved Method". My 6 inch Deep P Trap has the AC condensation line and Water heater pressure relief line there, there could be water evaporating during the winter when AC is not running. ---------------------------------------------------------- Georgia 2000 Edition 1002.4 Trap seals. Where a trap seal is subject to loss by evaporation, a deep-seal trap consisting of a 4-inch (102 mm) seal or a trap seal primer valve shall be installed. I'm trying to visualize this. Do you mean the p-trap will be seen below the bottom edge of a vanity, but you don't want that? Anyhow, looking at the Duravit website, it seems that the marketing folks eliminated the drains (p-trap) from those angular pics, probably since they would interfere with the sleek "slicks" (glossy marketing paraphernalia). The solution is to buy a shiny new chrome drain , install it, and be really proud of it.

Trap in my area is $10-20, tape $1-2, if needed flexible connections and compression fitting $20. Sometimes I think the OP does not have the skill set, materials, and tools. U tube this...if the OP is in it for the long run, subscribe to some home improvement magazines I am I in CA, Interesting in costs in other areas.
