I have to disagree with your doctor, Glenda. If you think you could be having a stroke, you should ALWAYS head to the ER because time is of the essence. You probably shouldn't drive yourself, but definitely get there somehow. Wonder why he said that to you? Anyway, I'm so sorry that you are feeling low and hope your trip helps with that. Must be U.S. folks. In Canada, apart from cosmetic surgery and such non-essential stuff - I get free advice fropm my doctor ... ... in his office. Well - not as "free" as it sounds, for some of us have health fees associated with our income tax, and other taxes help with the paying of the fees. I've used a lot of medical and diagnostic care in the past couple of days, and to go back tomorrow. I expect that my out-of-pocket cost will be zero. ole joyfilled

I went for my 6 week post natal check up. My right breast was kind of painful, as if the milk ducts were clogged or something. So my doctor told me he would gently palpate the area that I told him felt painful, to see if he could feel anything unusual. Just as he was doing so, my milk instantly 'let down' and started dripping out onto his hand. He quickly pulled his hand away and grabbed a tissue for me. But then suddenly I heard my 6 week old baby cry (who was with my husband in the waiting room) and all heck broke loose. My milk suddenly started spraying out of my other 'unclogged' breast, hitting his lab coat! Before I could even do it myself, my doctor instantly covered my left breast with his hand, and kind of croaked "Can't you just stop this?" My doctor was younger than me, with no kids yet, and looked like the proverbial Dutch boy trying to cover the leak in the dyke. He obviously was unaware that breastfeeding mothers often can't control a sudden letdown of milk, when they hear their infant cry. I just laughed and said "Sorry about that, and no, I can't stop it, I can only ask you to please bring me my baby." He said "Sure thing!" and couldn't have run out of the room faster, lol! P.S. he gave me medication and my painful breast cleared up shortly afterward.
