Outdoor see through fireplaces are notoriously difficult to burn without smoke blowing out one side due to wind. Adding glass doors and burning the fire with the doors closed is the only solution I am aware of for this. You should not burn a fire with glass doors open on one side and closed on the other. The glass will shatter from heat because all the flames will blow to the closed side. When you have both doors closed and a draft assembly on the bottom of the doors you can feed air into the fire evenly from both sides and the flames will go up like they are supposed to instead of blowing directly on one of the doors. Some people will recommend using ceramic glass because it can handle the heat, but it is very (very) expensive and there are no guarantees it will not break. You can read more about this here:

You are also going to want glass doors that are made for use outdoors, otherwise they will just rust out and fall apart in short order. Read more about that here:
