Happy Thanksgiving, Everybody!

We were a small group, but it was nice. With a small group you get to talk to people. I had a great conversation or two with my cousin's sister-in-law, whom I've met many times, but never much past pleasantries. One of the aunties brought an old photo album. I learned that one of her aunts came to California in a Conestoga wagon.

I hope you all had a lovely, healthy holiday as well.

Ours is tomorrow due to work schedules.

Not very well baby proofed for those wild twins, so we'll all be on our toes!

Hi Pippi - I usually read the new posts on the board once or twice a day. Not much going on in my garden right now. Hubby and I have been quite busy in Oct & Nov with our annual fall leaf clean up. We are gradually cleaning up 15 acres of woodlands to remove the deep mulch on the forest floor so that the land will be able to grow more food for the animals. Hi Susannah Try to grow a different variety of radish for the dear boyfriend, there is some interesting with 2 colors like watermelons, rose or french breakfast. Then use the whole plant. Cook it for a minute or two with their own water left from washing, you can chop the leaves coarse. Add a little bit of butter, salt and pepper. It is is perfect to use tomatoes, radish and carrots together. I have runner beans, carrots and radish combo. And I like all the greens from my garden this time of year, I love your arugula in salads! Are you planting any of the Asian greens? We really have to grow more of this, they are not only easy to grow but they are delicious and nutritious. Here are my radish going to be prepared like I told you. Thanks everybody. The chargers are by Espana, and are actually more of a mustard gold color. I used the rose candle ring because the colors in it were perfect to go with the colors I was using on the table. I felt like the cornucopias needed something, but I didn't have any tiny fruit to put in them. : ( I kept some of my old ceramic pieces, but not the pheasant that would have been perfect for my fall decorating!!LOL I did see one from the same mold in a thrift store, but it wasn't painted very well and I have since bought the 2 that I use on my mantle, so didn't really need it anymore. I also see many other items in thrift stores that are identical to things I currently own!! :=o The Give Thanks plate has a Cracker Barrel logo on the back. DD had one, returned it due to the batteries lasted only a few hours and took a long time to recharge. She said there are other vacs that do what she wanted it for. Apparently it is battery opperated only. We both have the bigger dysons.

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well, I hope you had a good one!

We celebrated with just our small family, hubs, me, and our college kids. It’s always so lively when they come home, and so expensive…these kids eat a lot of food!!

It’s always so interesting to hear old stories from loved ones. I’ve often lamented that by the time I was old enough to really appreciate my grandparents and the wisdom they could share through their life experiences, they had already passed away. I’d give anything to be able to sit down and have a chat with them now.

lovemycorgi, I feel the same way. I had some very interesting relatives and could have learned much if I had only had the good sense to pay attention. (sigh)

Our Thanksgiving is also tomorrow, that's the only day that fit into everyone's work schedule. Fine with me, I don't care which day it is, only that we are all together.

My rule has always been "No Christmas until after Thanksgiving", but Elery is going to take Madi and Maci out to cut our Christmas tree while I work on dinner. He pointed out that Thanksgiving was actually yesterday, so he slipped through on a technicality....
