It looks like you have a tray ceiling. No matter the size of table that is occupied there, the sconces should be centered on the ceiling space, which will coincide with the central light fixture. You will probably slide your sideboard down to center under the recessed lights once you move in.

This appears to be a mess of a lighting plan. I would suggest telling the electrician to standardize the placement of the sconces like this in all 4 units.

Thank you 3onthetree , we eliminated the tray ceiling and now it’s flat. I still can relocate all recessed lights the way I want it without going back to the electrical engineer who design it .That is all depends on where I want the artwork to be at. Any help will be really appreciated.

Even without the tray in this case I would still center with the Dining chandelier. The recessed at the wall is problematic though. If you have specific walls for prominent artwork, the lighting should be designed for that with 2"-3" gimbals or power for picture lights/sconces to accent them. Although the lumenaires aren't symbol keyed, the assumption is they are basic 4" or 6" cans that will just throw a generic cone of light on the wall, and there are some unintended hot spots here and there. Also, unless you have a control panel, you try to limit the gang of switches to maximum of 4, or it gets really confusing.

3onthetree , I’m really thankful for your time, do you think by eliminating those 2 sconces and hanging the artwork in the middle of the table not the middle of the wall will be fine ?

It seems placement could work centered or offset, but without the sconces only. According to your sketch, the sconce is too close to the hall. If the artwork is offset from the table, you have the balance and massing from the sideboard, so picture yourself sitting in the family room. First, you probably won't view the art perfectly associated to the center of the table. Then, if you see the artwork not centered on table/chandelier, that may be ok because the visual breakup with the sideboard may balance the entire view. And you've drawn like a long 6'+ piece, so it may conflict with that 4-gang switch box there anyway. But, I would probably just eliminate the sconces as IMO it detracts from the art anyway, and limits you in flexiblity for a different sized piece in the future. Then you can play with a centered or offset location upon hanging. I think either could work.

Same logic I would apply to the sideboard, whether it can be centered or offset from the table.

And ^my wishy washy response probably didn't help you in deciding what to tell the electrician!
