What kind of tree is this?

Every autumn these trees are the very last to color up and drop. These colors are actually quite muted. Some other specimens of the same species are quite nice with some pretty strong orange/gold hues reminiscent of sugar maple.

It's late November and they are still hanging on strong as you can see. The towns and cities in our region commonly plant these.

Leaves are a glossy green in summer and rounded, sort if like a serviceberry or birch.

So, what are they?!

thanks!
