Help me Chandelier size /style for my Dining room ?
Trying to decide on a new dining room chandelier.
Currently we have a builder grade type basic chandelier and I know that just changing that fixture will do so much good. You don't really see the dining room from the front door, but you do see the light.
My dilemma is- the dining room is a small-ish room that is open to the living room. There used to be a half wall between the 2 rooms but we removed that and it lets things flow some much nicer.
The dining area is roughly 14 by 10, but there is a walkway in the 14 ft so it's really probably more like 12 by 10.
I have a table with 6 chairs ( I do have a leaf and could seat 12 but since we have downsized, that will be the exception).... Table is 39 inches wide.
I have seen a few drum fixtures that I really like but trying to decide on size. I could still consider a different style, but so far, the drum ones are calling my name.
There are 18 inch diameter, 20 inch diameter and 24 inch diameter.
Any wisdom to share? The fixture that is there now is approx 24 inch diameter, but it's much more "airy" as compared to the drum fixtures.
Here are a few of the drum fixtures I am considering. I would love some feedback. Several are available at different websites but I am just linking with the first one I found for convenience.
The current fixture is approx 24 inches diameter, but it's a very lightweigh looking one so that's why I am unsure as to me the ones I am considering have more heft or presence.

3- This one comes in both 18 and 24 inches. I really like it but it might be too much for the space. ( also since I dawdled, it's of course gone up in price and barely available but want your opinion on style etc).

Here is our current fixture builder basic. Also in the larger photo you will see probably that the chandelier is swagged and off center. This will definitely be fixed with the new one.jealous?
Ok and here is the dining room currently.
I am afraid to add another but why not.
And on the other side is our living room.
So - do you think the fixtures I am considering will work nicely in my space? I do like them but sometimes I cannot see the forest for the trees and I would love your opinions.let's hope 3rd time is the charm and this posts.

I didn't look further on Overstock (I'm already killing time I should be spending on something else), but the wavy would be great -- a little softer. It's a marriage of the large rectangles behind and the curves of the furniture. It is unexpected, but still adds formality. I like either of the rectangles. They are simple, yet dramatic and unique enough for your pedestal DR. OK, Lauren -- you can't say we aren't giving you ideas! Please post when they are done so then the console table you were considering relocating or can be addressed. Comments (6)With a 9’ ceiling you need about 7’ under chandelier for clearance if heads. Unless, it hangs over a coffee table. That leaves 24” total for your fixture. 2 years agolooks good. 24" is prob the better size. You could blow up a balloon to that size and try it over the table.

2 years agoThanks for confirmation. I see I was so frazzled trying to post and repost but the one that Beth used in the pic right above this is actually from ?Houzz (although it seems many vendors carry it). The one that was truly from Lowe's is the one with the curved and longer bottom which I thought might be a bit much for the room. Also it's way more $ and is out of stock all over.
So I will think on this another day or so and probably order the one -this one. In the 24 inch.Of course if anyone has any other brainstorms or suggestions (until Monday lol) have at it!

2 years agook I keep deliberating ( remember that thread about procrastinating and the cost of indecision?). Well, I do really like that Presidio but part of me is wondering if it's too trendy ? I do like it and sort of wish it was already up but do you think it's just ok?
I saw this one and maybe it's a bit too much more though it is very pretty. OVANDA . It is 26 inches wide and maybe a bit more ornate ?
So for comparison, here is PRESIDIO which is 24 inches wide.
This one is available at several vendors even Bed Bath and Beyond but I would probably order from the A site .

I like that Lamps Plus has a mock-up feature, you might want to play around with various looks.Holly, my heart goes out to you and your DH. ❤️
