In answer to your earlier post about how much setback is needed for a sink. The setback should be 4"-5" for an undermount sink, regardless of whether the sink is in the corner or not. You need the 4"-5" in front of the sink to maintain the integrity of the countertop. (It is for that reason that many people like an apron front sink, which is more ergonomic because your body can be directly against the sink without the slight lean needed due to the setback for an undermount sink, which can cause backache.) Sometimes a sink is just a bit too wide to fit into the corner space with just the 4-5" setback; the solution is either to (a) set it back farther than 5", which makes the sink awkward to use, or, (b) notch the sides of the base cabinet to allow the sink to come forward about an inch. If you have a good contractor, he should know how to do this without compromising the support for the sink. This should be one of the questions you ask when interviewing contractors. If the answer about installing a corner sink is a scratch to the head, or something non-committal, find another contractor. You want the answer to be, "yes, I've done that before and know how to do it". My sink was installed with just a slight notch to either side of the cabinet, and I've never had a problem. I thought about installing an apron front sink in my corner location to avoid the stepback issue. and Mirandall did it. So it is possible, but it would be a tricky install, and need more room than I had. I am happy with my undermount sink in the corner with about a 5" setback. Another thing you can do to lessen the chance of a backache is to install a pull-out faucet, not a pull-down faucet. A pull-down faucet (also known as a high arch faucet) is closer to the rear of the sink, requiring the user to reach farther to rinse something. A pull-out faucet has a longer reach into the sink, so that the user does not have reach as far while rinsing something.

Raised bars are really outdated a large uninterupted space is much nicer , do not believe for one minute they hide a mess only if your guests are shorter than the island.How large are your walkways a sink directly opposite a range is never good and have you actully priced out the venting requirements for a 48” range IMO overkill in any home unless you cook for 20 every night the noise from the exhaust system is awful and the whole thing will cost you at least as much as the range.Did you have an actual KD or is this your architect designing your kitchen because architects are not usually good at kitchen design. I usually like kitchens on outside walls for light and range placement but I would need to see the whole layout for comments on that.IMO cooking appliances in islands are the worst possible choice.I hope you have a ll drawers for base cabinets I keep all my everyday dishes and glassware in deep drawers

Just to be clear every time you want something from the pantry you need to go through the butlers pantry? That would make me crazy in one day. Do you have a KD ? If so use them. I always tell my clients when they want something to imagine making a simple pasta dish for dinner, count how many steps you will need to finish the job and clean up. Are you willing to do that all the time then you have the perfect kitchen for you. I have a kitchen built like 2 galleys my husband and I cook together all the time so we have to back to back sinks at one end of the island where he preps on the fridge side and I cook on the stove side.Our pullout pantries are with -in easy reach for him and I have under the counter pullout for oils and vinegars. Kitchen design is done for how you cook just like buying appliances you buy them for how you cook not because they all match or cost as much as a good used car but how you use them. I am also hoping all those base cabinets are drawers. IMO a butlers pantry needs a DW and the dish storage in there.

There’s no physical reason that a pull out faucet can’t be installed almost anywhere that you want. You could even install it on the side if you wanted. But do be aware that although symmetry isn’t required, you may feel that balance is, and it would be unbalanced without some form of addition on the other side to offset it. Resale is a bugaboo specter, but if you’re close to reselling, pick centered. Because it would bother a significant portion of the population.
