Palm Springs is also having unseasonably cold weather today. This morning, it got down to 57°F (6° below normal), and the predicted high will only be 80° (13° below normal, but it made it to 85°). This morning was the coldest so far this season, and it feels like summer is over, even though it normally lasts through the entire month of October here. It's supposed to warm up by the week-end, but still be below normal. I probably won't be using the pool again until April or late March.

Unseasonably cold here as well. In fact, yesterday recorded the lowest high temperature - 50F - for that date since 1899!! Not planned to get much above that today but temps will creep back up to 'normal' over the next week.

Fortunately, chilly daytime temps don't necessarily mean a cold night. Only a few degrees difference between nighttime lows and daytime highs :-)

A front moved through here today but didn't drop the temps much. Another front coming through on Friday that will bring rain followed by the coolest temps since early May. Low 40s at night over the weekend.

We’ve been having days around 45 F. and nights around 22 F. We’ve already had a bit of snow. The Northern lights were spectacular two nights ago.

It’s supposed to warm up a bit for next week.

Lucky you people. Here it will reach 80 for the rest of the week with nighttime lows which should be in the '40s this time of year, but will be in the upper 60's. We have had ten or eleven days of nothing but cloudy, super humid days, the whole month of October. I hate it!

yep, chilly in mid AZ also. last night i realized I need to get my heater out soon. i was cold last night - too cold to come out from under my comforter to turn the fan off. we usually continue with rather nice temps thru Oct. it's 72 now, but lower last night. time to get out the long pants and shirts with sleeves. I did hear we had snow up north.

Just drained ALL the sprinkler systems @ the rentals, as of yesterday; did a neighbors too. A hard freeze is expected tonight. It's already been snowing in the high country

Colorado, Oct 2021

We're still in drought here, despite some recent showers. We're 21 inches on a norm of 31 inches precip. for the year. Tonight is the end of truly unseasonably warm days; 71F today, going down into the low 50's at night all week. I think I heard a foot of snow was predicted for the Rockies today. We switched our heat returns today from cooling to heat, but haven't turned on the furnace yet; our house is tight and holds the heat.

Michigan has been unseasonable warm.

Longing for some cooler weather here. It was hot and very humid today - yuck.

After a summer and fall with prolonged and unusual hot, dry weather, we are finally into cooler temperatures and rain. It's so refreshing, especially for outdoor walks,.

OMG! In South Florida its still in the 90's with horrible humidity. I can't stand this weather and its been this way since May.

Just a horrible way to live! How I wish I were back in NY! I love fall, I love early snow falls, I love cold nights.

@jane__ny....me too! It snowed here yesterday. The storm rolled through like fog.....it was BEAUTIFUL! The radiant heat flooring is on. The kittens want to cuddle. The trees are bright orange or yellow. Aaahhhhhhh........

Hitting 85F here today, need an extra badana in the garden. Cooler temps expected over the weekend with a shot of rain. 70's next week with lows in the upper 40's.

We got five inches of snow on Monday.

I know most people think that's nuts for mid-Oct, but we are in the mountains in NorCal, so this is fairly normal here. Usually we groan about October snows, but this year, we cheered as it wasn't A.) Hot (such a terrible hot summer we had), nor was it B.) Smoky. (5 inches of snow comes with cleaned up air and also puts out a few stubborn spot fires)

yep it was 84 here in south central PA. How I wish we could have a true autumn. 3 months of 60 degrees. we will go from 85 to 30 in a days time. 85 in Oct. sucks!

When I first visited Colorado in the early 2000s it was mid Sept and we were going to hike the St. Vrain area. We drove up there and there was 2-3" of powdery snow on the ground. I was crestfallen but the locals told us not to worry, we should come back the next day, the forecast was for it to warm up. I was skeptical, but we came back the next morning and it was sunny, highs in the 60s and the snow already gone from open areas. It can evaporate that fast because of the dry air and high UV radiation. There was still some snow in shady areas as I hiked up to Lake Isabelle - gone on the hike back.

Already we are the fourth hottest October in history and today's 84 broke the record from the 1800s. Had to wear a tee and shorts to the trail and I still was sweating. Horrible humidity too and the AC is running all day.

It has been unusually hot and humid here also, less rain than normal (but not as bad as where Chisue is) as well, so, the trees are starting to drop leaves but haven't turned their usual brilliant oranges, crimsons and yellows.

Last night a cold front came through - finally - with a fair amount of rain (not enough though) and the temps dropped to the low 50s. Such a pleasure to have the doors and windows open - even when it wasn't that hot, it was too sticky to leave them open this past month.

Now I just hope that we don't have a quick transition to cold weather - usually we can count on pleasantly cool-to-warm days until late November - with one or two cold blustery rainstorms (seems to always be around Halloween!), and a few frosts, scattered in.

So last night at this exact time it was 74. Now it's 48!!! Hurray!
