Design Dilemma Home Decorating living room

I need assistance with decorating my living room. I like
Black and white theme along with some
Color im looking for rug reccomendations and curtains as well along with accent chairs

Room size is legnth is 15 feet
And width is 11.8 feet

The room has the pop of color but nothing else. Look for a bold black/white rug, b/w art, black end tables and modern glass top coffee table. A chair in comfy black patterned fabric with bold gold lamps with black shades or accents. Curtains can be white with bold black graphics. Black and white palettes have tones of choices. Repeat the sofa color in another area of the room to tie it in.

Balance: I’d skip drapes as a rod a few extra inches above windows won’t affect the ceiling/window effect. The tv is really high for viewing and I’d be bringing it to eye level. If interested and if room allows, can you turn sectional/console so they are facing windows and place tv there and art above fireplace. If keeping as is, add a huge piece of art between windows again to draw the eyes down into room. . Decor: suggest light textured blinds, a floor lamp and side table in corner with new chair to fill that space nicely and as a nod towards coastal, cushions, lamps and art will do the trick.

I would start with a much more colorful rug it does not have to be boho but needs color. If that is real plant go for it if fake the garbage is where it belongs . I am not a huge lover of coffeetable stuff so a simple orchid real plant is all I woudl do. Can we see the other walls just post more pics in a comment do not start another post .This type of rug gives you some colors to pull for pillows IMO a bit larger than the ones yu have and remember if your guests need to remove pillows to be comfortable then you have too many

Is this the front door to your home? Is there any way you could move the sofa out of the entryway? You could face the sofa to the window - center it on the fireplace and window. It does not have to be perfectly centered in the room - and as much of it as possible should clear the door. So the sofa would be facing the fireplace, the window, and you have a view of the door. I think that placement would be much better than what you have going on now. You could get a tv lift cabinet and put it in front of the window. And your tree art is fine over the fireplace. If you like it, use it. Metal art or a mirror makes sense over a fireplace. Paper or canvas art is great - if you don’t care about the piece - ie it has no sentimental or monetary value. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ogIlWb24G_A ETA: As I mentioned,, you could purchase a tv lift cabinet. I’d find the rug you want first as your choices are more limited. Just Googling b/w curtains came up with tons of options from Walmart to custom designs. I like the one’s with subtle designs.

Black rugs are difficult as they can look less than perfect quickly with dust, wear, etc. Solid black in chairs, end tables and other hard surfaces is probably wiser.
